There's a long way ahead..
Well... Exams seem to be boring. Made me ghajni
Dreams I remember #4
I was in a class, at the right front of the room near the door. Daytime. It was exam day and I was sitting on the second bench giving the exam of physics. I was wearing a uniform, I can't remember if it was my school's or college's. I didn't know how much time has passed, I was casually writing the paper; like really casually, most of the time looking around in the class. The invigilator announced, '15 minutes left'. Then I reallised that I was in deep trouble. I started writing as fast as I can, all answers were clear in my head. After few minutes I took a glimps of what was going onin the class. Strangly, some guys were throwing ball of paper at the invigilator. I seemed as if only I was giving the exam and everyone was just playing around. 'Anyways', I thought. I continued to write. Next It was the next day, I was walking with my two friends in the university. Then I realised that the exam took place in the university. Daytime. I was again wearing uniform of the college. I was walking in between my friends. Those were my college friends (I actually study in an engineering college), Avik and Anoop. We were talking about something. 'Lets go to the auditorium', I said. 'ok', they said. We were climbing stairs. (Auditorium usually exists in the ground floor but while dreaming I carried on without a thought). We were sitting in the auditorium, at the back. I was an enormous auditorium, like one that I have never seen before. It had fade lemon yellow color seats and stage curtains. Strange, I thought. As I ran my eyes in the enormous room, I saw a very strange thing. In the background of the stage, I saw an enournous, compact and flat arrangement of pipe and various switches, which formed the whole backwall of the stage. It was enormous and fuctioning; with some gases leaking out and some lights blinking. I looked at it for a while. But then the stagemen, covered the wall with the lemon yellow curtain of the stage. I looked away. We then started talking about the exam of last day. 'So your physics paper was completed yesterday? right? I have completed it, so I don't have to worry today' Avik said. I was confused a bit. Then I don't know how but I got all the information about the exam system of the college. It was like the long papers take place in two shifts; Day 1 & 2. Those who have not finished the paper in day 1 can come and complete the paper in day 2. The shifts were 1 and half hours each. Next moment I was sitting dumbstruck, after realising all the information that came to my mind. And I felt more misterable when I realised that I had not finished my paper yesterday and today 1 hour had passed. My mind started racing. 'Have you completed your paper?' I asked Anoop, who was sitting besides me. 'Yea, I have', He said as if obvious. 'Oh my god, I have not completed it', I said, tensed. They were surprised. 'Lets go', I said and ran outside. I sensed, they were also following. I ran as fast as I can; by now I had only 20 minutes left. I was on the grounds now. I halted, took a breath. 'I have to complete my physics paper' I said as I out of breath. Then Prashant appeared from back. It seemed as if he was running behind me. (Prashant is my best friend, who studies in a commerce college. And it was really strange to see him running behind me, in this engineering college). 'Yea' he said, he too was out of breath. I started running to my left. Prashant called me 'Hey where are u going, the exam is not in that building. Its there.' He was pointing straight. I ran there. Prashant was not in the scene anymore. I started climbing the stairs. The building was old style and well maintained, with clean chocolate brown paint. I climbed to the second floor. A classmate of mine was returning to his exam class after sharpening his pencil in the dustbin outside the class. Strange, why do we need a pencil. He was not wearing the usual uniform, starnge. I too was not wearing it I realised, strange. 'Where is my exam hall' I asked him. 'The usual, 3rd floor' he said with a bit of surprise. I ran up. Then I reached my class. On the door of the class there was a black and white poster of a guy, who was either missing or wanted (I don't remember). I hurried in. Everybody looked at me. The invigilator looked at me with curiosity. 'Mam I am here to give the paper' I said hurriedly. There were 3 invigilators in the class, all female. Two of them were surprised. The third one said curtly 'You are late, You will not be able to give the paper' 'Mam please, this is really inportant to me' There was a long pause, then with a disgust she gave me my paper and I started writing. Next scene. Time's up. A sharp beeping noice. I woke up and turned off mt mobile alarm.
Dreams I remember #3
It was a crowded market, not too far from my home but far for me to hear if anyone shouts out from my home. It was daytime, I think 11 o'clock. I think I was sent in the market to get some cheese (paneer as we say in Hindi). Then I heard my mum's voice, she called out my name from my house. I thought, how can my mum's voice be clear enough to reach me here in the market. It was a clear shout, just my name "Mikun" (its my nickname), it was a steady voice. I turned around and with normal urge I was returning to my home. I turned into an alley from where I can see my house, it was at the top floor of an apartment. It was a square form of colony where I lived. My mum was at the roof of the building looking out for me. As I entered the alley I struggled through a massive crowd who were walking in and out. Most of the people were wearing kurta-pajamas. As I rose my head to see whats going on. I found that at the center of the square colony was a kind of event going on. A big crowd of people were circling some pole or tree (I didn't see it properly) at the center. As I neared there, I realized it was some kind of Muslim event. So I started making my way through the crowd. Now as I looked up, my mum was gone inside the house.
There were Muslim priests around the outskirts of the formation at the center. I saw some black gown wearing saints who does black magic; (tantrik in Hindi) with their peacock feather brooms. They were standing at the boundary of the formation. They were fulfilling a role of putting the formation into a circle. I made my way through the crowd. I stepped over a platform (its a bit above the ground and attached to the apartment's ground floor) of my apartment building. Then I saint came hurriedly and asked me curtly to remove my shoes. Then I realized that its really strange that I had my school shoes on. I had no idea why would they ask for me to remove my shoes but I followed. As I was (a bit embarrassed) removing my shoes, the saints mind changed and he gestured me with his hand to keep the shoes on and moved his head to tell me that "yes you can go in". I went in. I climbed the stairs to the first floor. I saw a police station to the right side of me and thought 'Since when we had police stations in apartments and that too in the first floor'. I moved on; as I turned to climb stairs to the 2nd floor, I person called me. I turned, he was looking like a politician (I corrupt one as I thought). He said smiling "Where are you going boy?" I said "To see my mum on the top floor". 'Why are you asking me this?' I thought. "No you cannot go there" still smiling. "Why?" "You have to pay us. Give us 20Rs. for letting us allow you" "No absolutely not" I said with a kind of disgust for them. His smile faded "Ooh, so you'll not pay us. Fine then... suffer" I was in half shock.
Few men (Indian) came from downstairs, they were wearing khaki Indian police uniform of the age when British were ruling India. He politician shouted the order to them "Tear his flesh apart". Suddenly they started ripping away my clothes from my torso. I was still standing there; they held me with my arms. Three men took hunters and started beating me with that. I was feeling pain. Lots of it. After a few minutes a could see my flesh getting red. It was strange that I was not crying out loud, was just standing there. After sometime, I prepared my mind for the beating. I told myself 'They're gonna beat you till you die or give them 20rs so you should bear it all and let me test my breakdown point of the body'. After that I felt like the hunters are causing me no pain. It was just like something is touching me. I was fully prepared mentally.
After a few hours (as I could imagine), the men were all tired and 2 of them left and I was left with 2 police men who were about to tumble down and sleep. And at last the politician who was the next room got bored and shouted at his men to get away. He was really angry at that time. Then he asked one of the men to get a chopper knife (chef's knife). I knew what he was going to do next. I stood there as he ordered the knife. Soon the knife was in his hand. We both looked at each other. Suddenly he waved the knife in the air to target my neck, I knew it was going to happen. I raised my hand so I could snatch the knife from that fat and lazy politician. I grabbed his arm and then the knife and it was too easy because he was a really slow man. Suddenly I waved the knife higher (than him) in the air to target his neck. I waved it higher so that I can have much larger potential energy. Then the knife made a really deep cut in his neck and the knife was stuck there. I made another effort to push the knife deeper in his neck. There was I shower of blood over me. He was dead. The other police man was too tired to react so he stayed where he was. The politician fell on the floor life a dead fish.
My anger go satisfied and I climbed upstairs to meet my mum.
I woke up.
My JEE mains rank
After a super long time, I’ve got some time to update my life status here. So here it is… On 8th July 2014 my JEE mains all India rank result came, (there were 15 lakh/1 million 5 hundred thousand students gave the exam all over India, for B. Tech in all the govt. colleges) I was expecting a rank below 90,000 all India. So that, (as I thought) I would have a low, but positive chance of getting into govt. colleges. Since earlier I had seen the last year cut off rank in the branches of B. Tech courses in the colleges of my city Chandigarh, and the least ranked govt. university in the city was having a cut off in ECE (Electronics and communication engg., a branch that I would like to prefer in engineering) that will allow me to get in that govt. university. The cutoff of the branch ECE in that college was 181,000. So I was having a positive vibe, but was scared a bit. Then the result came (online as it was). At that time I was with my best friend “Prashant” (he was in commerce and I was in non-medical stream) in the market, he was buying a mobile cover of his newly bought phone, I was simply accompanying him. One of my friend of non-medical messaged me that the result was out, I asked him to message me my result card’s pic to me on online messaging. The image was loading.. heart beat getting faster. Then I just saw it “175,139”. There was a moment of emptiness, blank expression, no happiness, no sadness, just silence in the crowd of the market. Then I saw Prashant’s face, he was asking what’s the result? I cracked a silly smile and said “I just realized that my career is ruined”. And all the while in the market I was just a energy drained guy, watching my career fading away. It was not like actually in a few years people will spot me selling spring rolls on the streets; it was the shock at the time which made me feel that my future is totally destroyed. It took me no time to accept that I lost the battle, and all I could think of is that “everything happens for good”. I came home, told my mum about it she just said now its gone, we should move on. She actually accepted my result and gave me reasons to carry on, encouragement. Then I went to my dad, he felt hopeless, started to blame me. But I understood his behavior; that’s how a man usually behaves in this situation. It took time for my parents to sink in the message. One month earlier, my parents bought a form of a private university “Chitkara University”, just in case I’ll fail to get admission in a govt. college, I didn’t like the idea as I thought I deserved more than this. And the same happened, I (with the help of my parents) still applied for all the govt. college counseling rounds; but failed. I ultimately landed up in “Chitkara University” (a nightmare, I try not to think about it). Mum still says that chitkara is a good college. But I don’t think so. The college has not started but I have a really bad image of the college in my mind. I went to the college, the first day. There I found a mutual friend of my previous friends. His name is “Avik”. He’s got the same career story as I have. He also cries that he’s in this college. So now we have convinced our mind that we’ll have to stay here for the next 4 years. And now since we can’t change anything, we’ll live through this period and enjoy and study our best in these years. We’ll swim through his mud, and be successful people. May the “life” be on our side.
Thank God I live in Chandigarh
Behind the dreams #2 - "Oh my god! My phone!!"
1. We were sitting in plastic chairs because I have them in real.
2. Robin, my best friend.
3. Honey, the little guy was a student in my mum's tuition classes, and my friend too.
4. The new phone, recently I've bought moto g. I love it, so I really care about my phone. ICU care. Lol.
5. I dropped my phone and saw the screen cracked because recently I had watched a drop test of my phone on youtube. And there it cracked.
6. Recently I had checked about the price of replacing the screen of my previous phone "Samsung Star II" and the shopkeeper told me it would cost 3000 if I replace the screen with original samsung screen and the ordinary one will cost 600 ; so here's where that 5000rs. came. I didn't replace the screen actually.
7. That over-crowded office with documents and office stuff because recently I have been going to my dad's office where I get free access to unlimited internet. And over-crowded because my room is filled with books everywhere. Wherever you'll see there are only academic books. And now when my exams are over. They are just laying around.
8. That dark brown man, was my friend Robin's dad; in real life.
