Just my backyard

you can be ‘smart’ and still be sick

you can appear ‘well’ and still be ill

you can smile or laugh at a joke and still be chronically depressed

you can have ‘a lot of talent’ and still feel hopeless

you can still have ‘a great future ahead of you’ and feel like the world is ending

you can have ‘people who care for you’ and still want desperately to die

telling someone who is on the verge of suicide to remain optimistic is really unhelpful.
