I was just gonna give a heads up that I caught a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it peek of Shea Whigham in the trailer for next week’s series finale of Justified - but as I was searching for a pic for it - I came across an article on TV Over Mind.com announcing these two will be starring in an upcoming 18 episode HBO comedy “Vice Principals” together too :) well yippee :D

I won Gillian's copy of Nellie Bly's book and they charged me 51 bucks shipping and handling. You bet I was pissed off!

isn't that ridiculous??? they charged me $78 to ship my hat! but shit 51 for a book is even more insane. I've been complaining to them for over a month trying to get them to credit me some money on the shipping - the guy finally said he would give me back $15 but that was almost 2 weeks ago and they still haven't.

The book came—-Gillian’s copy of Nellie Bly’s Around the World in 72 Days from the Boardwalk auction.

THE DETAILS I DID NOT EXPECT—-OMG——

The cue note to the actress on where to read in the book was left in it

and it has a PRESSED FLOWER BOOKMARK!!!!!  I re-watched the scene of Gillian reading to Nucky and you can see that there’s SOMETHING inside the book but it’s blurry.  It’s the flower.   Waaaahhhh!!!  The little tiny details of this show are probably what I love about it most of all.  I wish everyone who worked on that show could’ve gotten some kind of award for it.

Best/most weird of all——as soon as I opened up the package I noticed there were a couple of rough grains of sand on the front cover.  When I took the paper cover off, there was more rough sand on the hard cover spine of the book.  I guess someone was tasked with trying to “weather” the book a little to make it look old—-but it’s awesome that it’s sand because I’m imagining young Gillian reading this book on the Boardwalk.

#FEELS!!!#FEELS ALL OVER THE PLACE!

Oh, one more thing about the book—-it’s not actually a copy of Nellie Bly’s book.  What they did was take an ordinary modern day hardcover book (it seems to be some corporate management bullshit book that you wouldn’t mind destroying) and replaced the first chapter or two with replicas of the first couple of chapter’s of Nellie’s book.

I DO want to read Nellie’s real book one of these days soon—-pretty sure it’s online free somewhere, or I’m happy to buy a copy.  I honestly want to know Nellie’s real story!

Ooh congratulations :D when I read the part about the sand being in it - I thought of how she had all her stuff in a box buried in the sand - maybe it was from the beach? :)
