â i donât think itâs ignorant at all. this is a totally new strain of a broad range of viruses & thereâs still so much that isnât known about it. the mass panic is a little much, but i think itâs logical for people to scared & for governments to be taking all the precautions possible to prevent the spread & fatalities. â rayanne raised an eyebrow at the otherâs obvious lack of concern. â the amount of cases & fatalities from the virus in italy right now is quite frankly insane, given the short time frame. with the current lack of knowledge on it & no real cure for it, itâs definitely not just a cold or flu. itâs also not just about protecting yourself, itâs about preventing the spread to other people who have underlying health problems that could be worsened by the virus. the panic buying is unnecessary, but i donât think people who are being cautious are being ignorant at all. â her tone was blunt as she spoke, prepared to educate people as much as she could since witnessing the progress first hand. â well, at least sheâs got plenty of hands on deck to help take care of the baby. iâm sure itâll be a wonderful addition to their family. â
"they're uneducated about it. that's ignorance. i don't mean they're ignorant as an insult, i mean, they lack the knowledge of it. take precautions, but overbuying is stupid and also ignorant because if everyone is overbuying, there are some that will go without literally everything they're in need of, so. that's the bad ignorant," she said. "you can bust the virus without intensive care. i spend three days a week living in a hospital, i've heard all the talk, and i promise you --- it's just a superflu. i don't know anything about italy, i haven't done all my research, but i do know it's mostly affecting the elderly and those with low immune systems, at least here in the states. people are treating it like another ryan white aids epidemic --- or worse. and i don't mean to sound like i don't care about it at all, i just think people are overreacting. it took me, i kid you not, nine fucking hours to be seen by a doctor at the emergency room on wednesday because people were coming in thinking they had the plague. thank god i'm basically vip and was able to get admitted before everyone else, but because people were freaking out thinking them or their kid had coronavirus just because they sneezed, i had to wait nine hours for an actual oncologist to assess me. also shoutout to the nurses that kept me hydrated and basically alive. had a 100.8 temp," she said. "i'm just being dramatic, i was okay, but when people freak out and go to the emergency room over something like this that they're uneducated about, it makes other peoples health situations more problematic who are required to go to the emergency room for mild fevers or seizures, or strange feelings --- nine hours. all i'm saying. and just for comparison, normally when i go to the emergency room for a fever, they have me in within fifteen minutes and from the time i step foot in the door and the time an oncologist steps foot in my room, it's normally only about a forty-five minute wait. but no, nine hours because people who didn't have emergencies were causing a fuss. but i get what youâre saying. and i agree about prevention --- iâm supposed to wear a mask wherever i go anyways, " michelle said, resting her head in her hand as she leaned against the arm of the chair she was in. "yeah, i guess that's true. she'll be fine, she's kept those kids alive all this time."
