uhm life updates? you said they'd be here. whyd you stop writing for so long and what made you start again?
I stopped writing partly because I was in an extremely toxic and stressful living situation, involving an abusive piece of human garbage, and a self hating meth addict. once that cleared up (i.e. they were thrown out) and I found secondary employment writing became possible again.
I spent two years as a closer at Payless, then they went bankrupt and closed.
I relied on my primary employment for a few months then found a secondary job in a Beauty supply store, then tertiary employment showed up and I took it. One of my contracts expired around the same time, and short term contracts were sparse. I just got another primary contract offer, and I’m going to ask for a few minor ammendments before I go ahead with it.
More recently I began my fifth or sixth attempt with Return to Chernobyl. 2016-2018 were really messed up years for me, starting from October 2016 to March of 2018. I dealt with a lot of shit people and situations. I moved from Milwaukee to Augusta to Cadott, to Osseo to Marshfield in a matter of 7 months, I did it all with my 2 cats (acquiring 2 more along the way) and a shitty disability. It was really rough for me, and several events added to my PTSD and now I’m dealing with that.
Luckily, the roommate I have now, and the additional cats have been good. I’m living with an Autistic Marine vet (just recently found out he was autistic) and it can be difficult, but he contributes more than any other roommate, not matter how difficult it can be.
-he feeds the cats and cleans the litterbox 3-5x a day because of how sensitive his sense of smell is.
-pays his rent and bills on time
-puts the seat and lid down, EVERY TIME
-does minor cooking, cleaning,
-has intervened in dangerous situations
-when my daughter’s ex broke into her apartment after seeing her and I leave, he confronted him FULL VIKING, naked swinging an axe.
-choked out my ex, after he attacked me, was fined, paid it, and did 3 days in county lock up. (my ex left, further assaulted himself, lied and due to laws it was considered domestic- aaron pled to a lesser charge instead of dealing with trial bullshit) and still says it was ‘worth it’ because it was what finally got him to leave after we had tried to kick him out.
-cuddles and cares for the cats (I’ve had several roommates who either ignored or were rude to my cats)
-is able to provide care with my disability
- doesn’t drink (anymore or much) or do drugs.
- Super suspicious of everything
-Amusing- once returned from the doctor and said “If Autism was jizz, then I just bukkakke’d the doctor”
I have plenty to complain about- but these are pretty great contributions. I’ m pretty offline nowadays- I only go online for work- submitting and accepting work. I usually keep my typing offline to avoid distractions. Anywho, I’ve rambled on long enough.
Healthwise, I’ve stabilized- light sensitivity is still an issue- but it is with aaron as well so I don’t have many lights that aggravate it anymore. I’m doing ok. I’m still on the crutch, I still have problems being mobile-
For a while I was without a car and goddamn I was the fittest I’d ever been in my life- I’m trying to still maintain some of it now that I’m driving again, but it’s hard to find the time.
