If you really think about it, we got no Mike's POV or arc and they screwed up his character completly because in the last season he was only seen like an object of desire for both Will and El.
He was only seen like a love interest for the writers, thats why he is a fucking cardboard cutout in S5
Thats why Mike Wheeler is even more tragic, not only his ending is what he feared the most but he got no development and he is reduced to an asshole because the writers didnt even bother to work ON THEIR MAIN CHARACTER since he already has a "purpose": A simple love interest
Mike Wheeler you didnt deserve this, you didnt deserve how the D*ffers wrote you
Screw his feeling right? All his traumas, his represed emotions and all of the things he had to go through all seasons dont matter.
So if that doesnt even matter, why even bother to have a good ending for him?
Like idc if he ended up with Will or not, he could've still be more happy and free in the finale. Get out of that town like he always dreamed of, like he deserves.
Smalltown Boy hits even harder after that ending...
