Personality: In her civilian form, Mari is kind and timid. She's a bookworm that doesn't like to get involved with drama, so she usually stays in the background. As the kunoichi, she is serious and stubborn. She takes her role as Norrisville's protector very seriously.
Likes: Reading, photography, D&D, being the Kunoichi, training in the Nomicon, Randy
Dislikes: Being late, when the Ninja fools around, McFist, Llamas
Randy Cunningham: She met Randy when they were little (Ep: "When Howie Met Randy"), and he protected her from the Stanked monster. She developed a crush on him and thinks he's pretty dumb, but sincere.
The Ninja: When she first met the Ninja, she thought he was an obnoxious idiot and disliked him for a while. After many battles together and a heart-to-heart about what being the Ninja and Kunoichi means to each other, she realizes he's not a bad guy. He's an idiot, sure, but he has a heart of gold. Of course, she has to reel him in and keep his ego in check.
Why doesn't she realize they're the same person? Well, love makes people blind. In this case, very blind.
Her Sister: Her older sister was one of the Kunoichi, and she revealed the secret of how the ninja and kunoichi change every 4 years to Mari. Her sister forgot and is off at college, but Mari still remembered, and she patiently waited and hoped for her opportunity to be the next Kunoichi. Thankfully, it was her time.
Basic lore/backstory: Her sister was one of the former Kunoichi, which is why she takes her role very seriously, because she doesn't want to fail her. She places immense pressure on herself to be worthy of the title, but the Ninja helps balance her out. While Randy is too lax at times, Mari is too serious at times.
The necklace she wore was originally the First Kunoichi's, and it's been passed down to every kunoichi ever since. It was supposed to be worn so that the Ninja could identify their partner in their civilian form. Sadly, when Mac Antfee was expelled from being the Ninja, he hunted down the Kunoichi of 1985 so he could get his powers back and for revenge. She prematurely gave up being the Kunoichi and couldn't bear the thought of what happened to her happening to other kunoichi, so she made a new rule to NEVER reveal one's identity in the Kunoichi Nomicon. The Ninja Nomicon has no such rule and actively encourages finding their partner. Randy tries to discover the Kunoichi's secret identity, but she thinks it's because he doesn't actually read the Nomicon and is not putting the pieces together.
