Mick. It’s nice to see you.
I take it these don belong to you.

au: DI Hardy/Belle. A trainee. An affair. A murder. tbc
Liz: Very true. Do I need to pick you up from the station on Monday?
Mick: Nah, I can walk. Ha, did ya see, your town won worst roadworks in the country.
Liz: I suppose it doesn't really matter to me...whether you are or your not...I've heard that quote before, my mom used to say something like it. I'm glad you're doing better...it just takes time. Some days are better than others. It's good that the nightmares aren't as bad though.
Mick:Thanks.... Yeah. It's nice to get more sleep. Kinda necessary.
Liz: I guess what I meant was that everyone was gone before I was even in Kingston. You stop answering the phone and eventually the people stop calling I suppose. I'm not one for questioning what others claim is wrong with them, although I'll admit I was unsure about the psychopath thing. That night on the roof...I don't think you would have tried to stop me if you were a psychopath. Of course, I'm sure everyone is different..the ones I met in Kingston were...beyond. Still, we all have ways with coping with what we've seen, what's been done to us, and what's happened in our lives. I guess we've all got our own shit to go through? Are you doing better though, with everything?
Mick: Ah. Like I said, I'm a bit thick. Look, I understand mental illness...unlike some of the nobs I work with I actually did some research...so I'm not gonna deny it, but I thought that was wrong...plus, the only people are know what it's like are the people who have them*. No one else does. We have..what's that quote..."be kind because everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle"? Well, it has it's ups and downs, but I'm not suicidal anymore. Guess that's an improvement. Nah, it's getting there. I have a therapist and he's cool and a low dose of Prozac. Don't get nightmares as often. I have bad days but if you don't go up and down y'dead, so-
Liz: Everyone I knew before Kingston is practically out of my life, except for my brother of course. I had a few friends before everything went down hill...and I suppose some of them couldn't handle it? I don't know. Yes, I suppose saying dead is better than all the other alternatives. It is what it is.
Mick: I have good mates that stuck by me, but I don't blame anyone who didnae get involved...not many people know how to deal with one issue, never mind..what was it, three eventually? As well as the whole "you might be on the cusp of being a psychopath" thing. That broke me, an expert telling me that, I was like, yeah, I did a sociology course and I don't bullshit. I'm a detective...I was confused because I did see where they were coming from, and I'll admit when you met me I was kinda trying to identify with it...but the more I thought about it the more it didn't make sense. I wouldae of had the nightmare disorder if they'd never said I might be inclined that way. I just...I was a depressed person who'd seen things...in my line of work...and let's be fair I dress like I'm a bit emo. Sometimes I come across as...I'm really earnest, and some people think it cannae possibly be sincere...but seriously, no psychopath is that dumb. I'm quite vain sometimes, but I'm not...remorseless. I'm a police officer...by the very nature no psychopath would ever be a front line member of a state institution, especially MINE. It would be like...fraternising with the oppressors. Unless they were like Dexter or something...but again, that guy definitely has remorse.
Pros: -Loyal and disciplined -Protective, no matter the circumstances. -Satisfied with improving things. Cons: -May rely on rules and traditions too much, making them look inflexible. -May respond to logic with anger. -May sometimes inaccurately determine what’s best for the other person.
