“Fuck, you gonna bite my head off?” Lou countered as she crossed her arms over her chest. Mick’s snappy and brash attitude never scared or intimidated her. If she did, there was no way that she would have ever survived at Gallagher, where a majority of the student body had anger issues, past her first semester. “Can’t I ask how it was?”

Realizing who it was, Mick let her guard drop. Lou was the only other person besides Sawyer who ever saw her vulnerable. “Lou..I fucked up. I got distracted and my scores are showing it.” She said handing the girl the paper. “I told myself it wouldn’t happen and it happened anyways, and now im pretty sure my dad will be making a special visit to make sure it’s not gonna happen again.”

“Alright alright, lucky shot,” Evan huffed as she picked herself up off of the ground. Although she had to admit, it had been a while since someone was able to knock her down to the ground. It must have been the hangover or the three hours of sleep she’d lost the night before when she staying up, training once again. “Or you’ve been practicing. When did you get so good?” she joked. @gallagherstart​

“Excuse you, i’ve always been good.” Mick said as she tightened her ponytail and smiled at the girl. This is what she needed, someone up to her skills that was able to actually challenge her. If she kept doing that her scores would go up in no time. “You good, or do you need a water break.”

“I’m done for the day,” River announced to her work out partner, un-doing her ginger ponytail, her hair cascading down her back once more, “If you’re not gonna stay, we should do something fun with the rest of the day.” @gallagherstart​

“Unless that something fun involves me getting shit faced drunk, I think i’ll pass.” Mick said as she leaned against the wall and closed her eyes. She knew she should keep going, but River was right..they needed to take a break.

– “SORRY?” LOUIS FURROWS HIS BROW as the girl snaps at him, not sure what he’s done but he’s SURE he’s done something, “i’m sorry,” he apologizes again, this time more sincerely, because whatever it is, he REALLY is sorry. “i didn’t mean to…get in your way?” he thinks that’s maybe what he’s apologizing for, “anyway, sorry.” third time.

“Stop apologizing, it makes you look weak.” Again her voice was curt, sharper than glass when it came out. Taking a deep breath, Mick put a calmer face on. “Sorry...bad day. Bad training, bad grades.” It was the truth, but she knew that she needed to calm down.

                   “ Jesus Christ, “   Caden gives the girl a look, her anger practically radiating off of her.  His hands raise in the air defensively, afraid she’d POUNCE of him at any second.   “ I’m literally just standing here. YOU’RE the one trying to fight a wall.  Bad grades ? “

“Ya, you could say that.” Mick said looking at the man. She had seen him around, some 1st year that caught the eye of the right people. “Its whatever, I just have to train harder is all.”

                “ Oh, that’s cool, “   he said, mildly impressed.  Hudson wondered if gym classes would be open to him and his friends as well, or if they were for real Gallagher students only.  He wouldn’t mind getting back into the gym – anything to kill the endless time he seemed to have.   “ How long have you been doing it ?   Do you recommend ? “ 

This was honestly the first time Mick had come across any of the transfer students and she was actually kind of impressed with them. “Uh, for about 6 years now. I started in high school.” That was okay enough to give away, normal and could seem like she picked it up as a hobby. Laughing when he asked if she recommended it, Mick adjusted the strap of her bag. “Uh, not with this instructor. Not unless you wanna die.” Another beat of silence and the girl held her hand out. “I’m Mikayla..you must be one  of the new guys.”

Mick looked at the paper her instructor handed her as she was leaving the gym and seethed. It felt like she had failed at the one thing she was good at all because she was distracted...distracted by him. “This is bullshit.” The brunette said shoving her paper into her bag. Slamming her hand on a wall, Mick heard movement behind her and glared. 

“What do you want?” She didn’t mean to snap, but this was terrible for her. She was a third year and her scores should be impeccable. But they aren’t because of a distraction. @gallagherstart​

“Pinche puta mierda! Que chingados voy a hacer?!” Anyone who understood Spanish would easily be able to tell that Carmen was frustrated, though that was probably also evident by the forces of her punches against the punching bag. The first day of bootcamp had come and gone, Carmen had been judged on her abilities….and she hadn’t done well. Having never gotten a bad grade on anything in her life ever, she wasn’t taking it pretty hard. Her combat score had especially sucked and if she didn’t learn how to win at least one match then she knew her Gallagher days were done for sure.

The brunette walked over and held the bag as Carmen was hitting it. “You need to pivot your foot more.” Was all she said. She knew that Carmen didn’t do well because she was wearing the same look that Mick was wearing due to her scores. “You want some help training?”

“I think… maybe… I will just… lay here for the rest of time,” Ruby mumbled, her limbs sore and breath gone as she stumbled over to the nearest couch and subsequently laid her entire body face-down onto it. The words, “I hate this school,” could be heard muffled through the cushions.

Mick looked down at the girl and had to hide a smile that wanted to come across her face. She had just led Ruby on a 3 mile run and that was after all the training they did. “Oh it wasn’t even that bad. Come on..we need to do this.” She said sitting down and handing the girl a bottle of water.

                 THIS SCHOOL WAS SOMETHING ELSE ;  the longer they stayed there, the more Hudson was beginning to believe it.  This  ‘ boot camp ‘  thing everyone was talking about was still somewhat a mystery, but the blonde wasn’t interested in pushing the matter.  Still….   “ You’re, uh, bleeding, “   he tells them, pointing to the injured area of their body before offering a hesitant smile.   “ You may want to get a band-aid.  How’d you do that ? “   //  @gallagherstart​

Training was rough. Mick had way too much aggression to take out that day and ended up pushing herself too hard. She didn’t even realize she had a cut above her eye before the blonde said something. “Oh uh..I take kickboxing classes.” She said as she wiped the blood away. “I’m fine.”

“okay, okay. thankfully i’ve learned to trust you.” he playfully winked.  scoffing and rolling his eyes, sawyer huffed out, “not all the time! plus, sometimes i let you kick my ass to benefit you.” his words were a lie. mick had much more training than he did, years of experience compared to him but everyday he learned something new thanks to her. “well, either way, while you’re kicking my ass in school shit – i’m kicking your ass at real life shit. it’s my specialty.”

“You would like to think that, pretty boy.” The banter between them was nice. It brought the girl out of her shell when she needed to be, and it was just the same as they always did. So why did she feel so different about it? Looking around, Mick started to notice waiters handing out flutes of champagne as everyone started getting ready. “I didn’t even realize that it was almost midnight.” Mick said quickly as she took a glass and handed it to Sawyer before taking one for herself. “look at us, spending yet another year together.”

“Hey tonight is the one night we can quote Gatsby as much as we want! I’ll shut up with it tomorrow I promise,” Lou assured her friend with a laugh. She was super into tonights theme and would have as much fun with it as she wanted to. “Oh I’m having a blast, mostly because of this wonderful open bar that we have here. What about you?”

“Fine, you got me there.” The brunette said laughing. “And i’m okay! A lot more relaxed then I was at the beginning of the night that’s for sure.” Her dress seemed to catch the light at the right time and with the buzz she had, it made Mick smile a bit. “However, someone gave me this really fruity drink and honestly it was really good.”

“yes, you did!” he piped, “and i was so proud of you. triggered, but very proud.” he grinned, sheepishly rubbing the back of his neck. chuckling, sawyer shook his head, “are you trying to set me up?” he teased narrowing his eyes at her. he knew it was true, however he loved to fuck with mikayla. “you’re right, you’re right!” he finished off the champagne grabbing another, “i will be forever thankful and indebted to you for that. these kids are badass, but i dare somebody to try fucking with me now.”

Mick laughed at his answer and shook her head. “No, I swear I’m not setting you up again.” She could at least be truthful in that sense because she knew that nothing would ever happen between them. it couldn’t, but she could enjoy the feeling while it lasted. The girl didn’t know if it was the drinks, or the fact that she was finally starting to loosen up, but Mick was actually having a fun time with Sawyer. “Please, lets not forget that you get your ass kicked by me in training.”

“i’m having trigger flashbacks to that time you tried to break my neck because i kissed your forehead.” he smiled, batting his lashes innocently at the femme. they had just gotten close and it was one of those moments the other was down and after a deep conversation he attempted to leave her with a soft gesture and was almost killed. “i know what you mean though,” his smile grew wider, “i appreciate that we’ve come this far.” he teasingly uttered. he loved that she was a constant in his life – sawyer wasn’t used to that, but he truly enjoyed it. “i’ve been bored of you, m’love, you’re just the only person willing to put up with me.” he sipped his drink as if it was hot tea.

“It was a knee jerk reaction.” Mick said a little too loudly as she fought to be heard over the music. “I stopped myself in time thank you very much.” It was true, and honestly something the could laugh about now that it was the past. “If you tried it now, I promise I wont hurt you.” That part was true. Sawyer had become the only person that Mikayla had actually let get that close to her ever. “Excuse me, if it wasn’t for me you wouldn’t of survived your first day here.”

Only a couple hours in and the Gallagher New Years Eve party was already in full swing with music blasting and beaded flapper dresses sparkling in the lights. It was extra and over the top and she loved it. “I like large parties. They’re so intimate. At small parties there isn’t any privacy. Don’t you agree?” Lou asked the person besides her with a smirk. She hoped that she wasn’t the only who recognized the Great Gatsby quote. “Now….shot?” It wasn’t really a question as she passed one over to them.

“I feel like I should be back in English class with you quoting the book at me.” Mick said with a laugh. Taking the shot glass from the girl, she shrugged. “Yeah, I guess I do need to loosen up a bit more.” Mick clinked glasses with Lou before letting the liquid slide down her throat. She was already a little tipsy due to the fact that she didn’t normally drink, but maybe it was good for her to finally have some fun. “You enjoying yourself?”

“Well, then definitely not so different from here,” considering most legacy families still ‘helped out’ the school every now and then, despite not needing it much. Or at all. “Really?” He looks at her, unamused. “What gave me away?”

“Well aren’t you mr gumpy pants.” Mick said jokingly. She already had a steady amount of alcohol running through her veins to loosen her up, but she handed another drink to the boy in front of her. “Trust me when I say you need this more than me.”
