Did a new photoshoot last night. The black and silver one (mid-top-left) is a WIP and will be tweaked before I'm Finished with it. (If it looks familiar, it's the same weave/arrangement as the bumble bee earrings.)

Group picture of the chokers I’ve made for a local queer dj. The one on the bottom was stock; the rest are ones they ordered specifically. I love the grey and pink one, it’s so brutal with the zip of pink but also soft and lovely in how it fades between the two shades of grey. The ocean one is also a fave as explained. We argued about the black and lime one…she wanted four rows and I was like “that’s so unwieldy lol”. She stood by it and I figured it out fairly well, I think. It’s still a lot…basically a chainmaille dickie. lol But it’s not bad and deff a killer mix of textures with the matte black and sleek lime. Hot mix of colors, too.

I have a couple others I have to get from her, including my take on a blood choker. I’ll obvs post here when I get them. She’s literally my neighbor, so it shouldn’t be too hard. lmao

This little snakey guy is a beautiful ocean-themed choker I made for a local queer star who owns like five other various ones from me. Anyway, this one sticks with me and I always wonder what a mountain version would look like…prolly some blues and black ice and greens. I’ll give it a shot some day.

Made a bi pride flag choker for an order. I’ll have some more grown-up shots soon. (I just mean they’ll be more formal, not saucy. lol) If you want one, they’re $45. Bracelets are 25.

Did a house party/backyard rock show the other night. It was my first in over 10 years, tbh. But it went great…made back the money I put into the display stuff plus about another 30%!

I’m finally starting to Make more consistently from having a sprained wrist earlier in the year, so hoooopefully I’ll be posting here more. My wrist is still damaged, but I’ve been able to work around it more. 😂

You're not wrong about the pricing! Chainmaillers especially are so bad at pricing "correctly" (and that exists on both ends of the pricing continuum). But, historically, I'm only about $5-7 off from where I usually sit. Idk I'm pretty fast even with the injury. I can make an hp4 bracelet in maybe 25 minutes, probably less. The byz choker on the far right took 1h45m. $45 is fair for that, no? At a notional 25/hr (I know that's not a perfect paradigm, but just for the illustration). 🤷🏻‍♀️ I get also figuring in for expertise, etc. but I'm trying to keep my work accessible in the current economic atmosphere while also staying fair to myself. There's also the overall pricing curve compromise of some things are gonna be a little under/some things are going to be a little over their "ideal" price. Idk...it's a fraught topic, for sure. But tbh I don't think we talk about stuff like this in our circles as much as we should. So thanks for mentioning it!

I will say I'm deff lowballing some of the fidgets by like $10. But it's hard to label something a fidget and then price it for $30, especially (again) right now.

This is a great post to point out that chainmaille jewelry is some of the best stim jewelry you'll find. It's jangly, smooth, textury, cool to the touch (usually), it often smooshes and shifts...it's the best and it's a big reason people get so hook on making it.
