Undercover | Allison & Mico

“Thanks, a chuisle,” she smiled gratefully and took a sip from her wine. She’d made a deal with herself that she wouldn’t get too drunk tonight, but she also definitely needed some help from her good friend alcohol. “What if I am part of the mob and I’m trying to infiltrate them? Wouldn’t that be so cool? I mean, a bit dangerous probably. But cool. I’d have my own gun and everything.” She mused on that for a moment as she turned her attention back to the mirror, putting the finishing touches on her hair.
“I won’t let anyone murder you either. Promise.” She chuckled, feeling a little bit better after his reassurances. At least there would be food and drinks, that part seemed promising enough. Plus Mico would be wearing a suit, and she would never, ever get tired of that sight. “It’s actually sort of exciting that we have a secret together, and no one at the party has any idea. Makes me feel like I’m on some kind of TV show.“
“Alli, you’re making our lives sound like a spy novel, and don’t get me wrong I’m all for it, but tonight is gonna be a lot more dull than that.” He chuckled. “Besides they won’t think you’re a part of the IRA they’ve done backgrounds checks and stuff on you once I told them you were joining me.” He spoke the words and quickly realized they might frighten her, “Don’t worry, nothing too extensive, they would’ve mostly been looking for family stuff.”
“I know, I know you’ve got my back.” he said with a smile. “And speaking of secrets, I might need you to... run interference during the party. Nothing too bad just schmooze the other guests and be your charming self in case I need to slip away unnoticed for a minute or too. You’ll kind be like my partner in, well, not in crime, but you get the idea. But no, you can’t have my gun.”
