What if Vox had been Alastor's opportunity to become a better person through friendship : non transactional, equal, caring, trusting and going beyond differences by having so much in common?

What if Alastor had been Vox's opportunity to learn selflessness: to care about more than just himself, to put other's people needs and happiness before his own, to share what he has or could have with someone because it made them happy ?

What if they both became so much worse after their fallout because they could have been so much better ?
