I wrote this since I've been craving a little sad story about how reader slowly figuring out what her lover has been up to.

After that day, he kept his promise. That pathetic white lie—I can only imagine how foolish I must’ve looked. He was coming home earlier, and we were able to spend more time together. Eating, sleeping, making love. We had it all. But one day it all stopped; almost like a hiccup in time, he started coming home later. He came back more exhausted and drained. He stopped talking about work; our conversations that used to last hours can now barely hold out for more than 5 minutes. It’s always a mumble or groan. Everything became distant; even in the most intimate moments, it felt far away. And I couldn’t figure out why; I thought maybe he was just having a hard time at work, maybe that assistant of his wasn’t doing her job. 

He left his lunch at home today, and why not be the best wife I am and personally give it to him? I put on my best outfit and headed out the door, but when I got in the car, my stomach churned. My whole body felt like it was spinning, like my gut was trying to tell me something. Hmm, must have been the breakfast I had...
