You are what you eat: just ask the hooded grasshopper (Teratodes monticollis)! This uniquely-shaped  insect feeds primarily on leaves—and it’s perfectly camouflaged to look like one, too. Females can grow up to 2 in (5.2 cm) long, while males are only about half their size. This species might be spotted near trees or shrubs throughout parts of India and Sri Lanka.

Female Common Green Darner (Anax junius) in the process of laying eggs. They're migratory, similar to Monarch butterflies. Populations fly south in the fall to regions like the Gulf Coast; however, it does take three generations of dragonflies to complete a single annual cycle of the round-trip journey north & back.

When the bumblebee jumper ditches the hunt to stalk another ant =_=

Check out the abdomen arch from the ant there--it looks like she can spray acid! Or she's mimicking a species that can. Either way, the jumper didn't want to find out...so they went to bother another worker, who might not have noticed them yet! (Also, the other ant is a complete different species, presumably one that doesn't spray acid.)

These aren't just any scarabs--these are bess beetles! They live together in big families in logs, and make sounds to communicate with each other. They have eight known "words"!
