nevermind that i need to actually formally write out at least a brief run-down of my pokémon verse(s), but now i'm contractually obligated to sketch out a rough approximation of what her mon form looks like. EVENTUALLY.
The confinement awaiting his returning senses was cold, clinical and most frustrating of all: effective. Before he fully registers his surroundings, instinct already has him seek out shadows to steep into but they thought of that. His cell was illuminated with blinding lights that left not a single corner with a shadow. There was still his own but a strange chinking noise drew his cyclopean gaze to his hands. Cuffed like a beast was his first thought but the greater frustration came right after. Its material kept his form physical and suppressed the energy flowing into them that he needed to use moves. Of course they went the extra-mile to keep him secured! Of course! They always thought themselves smart and they would regret it sooner than they'd realize. Arrogant lot, they knew naught of what he was capable of to insult him with their security measures.
At first, he thought the comment about his rarity was his captor's gloating and his gaze filled with rising anger. But squinting through the light, he noticed it belonging to a fellow cell-mate. It wasn't relief, but it took some of the burning sensation right out of him. Not that it mattered in this moment, in which they were both considered trophies by some sick human mind. He had to focus.

What a noble sentiment—and one she quickly acquiesces to. In truth, she hadn't taken much time to consider the "others" who'd been abducted in similar fashion, (perhaps forgivably selfish in the brief time since she'd woken), but it takes no further words to sway her in favor of the more comprehensive jailbreak the shadow has in mind...and which he's so quick to put into action! Acute senses subdued as they were, she hadn't noticed his famous ministrations at work until the somnolent guard slouched into her periphery.

A fool, indeed: the ill-prepared employee quickly relieved of his access key and let to shamble away under Darkrai's influence, whilst the witchling skims her gaze about their cell. Each of their binding contraptions has its own release panel on the outer wall, theoretically out-of-reach, but Hattania wasn't so helpless that she couldn't manage enough kinesis to close the final gap.
His shackles are the first to come undone: power visibly ebbing as bands of yellow light go dark before the manacles dramatically split at their seam and fall to the floor with a metallic clang—hers following soonafter.
The sudden surge of empathy as dulled senses return in full-force is enough to make her wince, but she manages to mollify them before any unfortunate outburst can occur. Six wings stretch and titter for a moment, then wrap around her slender form, her kind's signature illusion of a gown restored; no visible scuffs or scrapes to speak of, but the last dregs of toxic poisoning linger still in slightly laden motions. Not so bad, all things considered.

His knowledge of Fae weaknesses wasn't deep; Chilchuck had expected that being a bit more intelligent than the average commoner getting snatched by the fair-folk was enough to keep him out of their clutches. They usually didn't get too close to him; and he expected that it was because of his renown that none wanted to get into a loop of disappointment. If Laios had been consulted at all about this woman he was courting, maybe he would've learned that the iron dirtying his hands on the daily was probably a strong deterrent to any of her kind. Perhaps it was why her claim on him wasn't challenged.

Three O'clock came; though it was by chance he'd returned on time. The errands had been simple, and laden him with a bit of a burden. Over his shoulder, a satchel of food and supplies, dried fruits,sweetmeats, bread and jams, and Belatina with a new bedroll, and additional saddlebag.

" I think we'll make it with plenty of time before it gets too dark. I hope you're up for something to eat. If you don't mind a longer ride, we could take all this to the jousting tournament."
T'was a double edged sword: the anticipation of such a sweet reward waiting at the end of the work day certainly motivated fast hands and singular focus—ensuring that nothing need be done twice—but it also made time feel as though it stretched achingly long, each flicker of her eyes to the clock on her wall soliciting another whine at the lagging pace...but it was for the better, in the long run, as Ms. Moto's attack on her remaining orders yields a bit of extra time before he returns; enough that she can be sure to pretty herself up appropriately for the occasion. Kinks in golden curls sorted, flour scoured from under her nails, and practical dress exchanged for something a titch more lovely, (though she manages to keep herself from going overboard on the elegance front this time).
She trots out to meet him without a moment's delay, a small satchel of her own bouncing against one hip with each hurried step down the stairs—beaming all the while.
❝ All set! ❞ the kitchen put to sleep for the evening, embers tamped out and every tool, every ingredient, stashed in its proper place; doors locked and wards placed. Her little shoppe, and her home within, was all set to be without its mistress for a time.
A good, long time, she hoped; the generous supplies he'd put together for the occasion giving her hope that it would be just-so.

I can't wait to enjoy it together...at the jousting tournament?❞ Her affectionate tone meanders into curiosity at the end, though it doesn't lose any brightness. ❝You know, I can't say I've ever been to a proper contest of the sort—but that sounds so exciting! I don't mind waiting a little longer, at all, if that's the case. ❞ Even if she had theoretically worked through lunch in her furor, she wouldn't wither away.
All the same: she wastes no time making herself familiar to the steadfast mare once more, presenting her hands before Belatina and offering a gentle stroke along her muzzle in homage before following her beloved along, accepting the courtesy he offers in getting settled up in the saddle. ❝—and you'll be alright 'til then?❞
