sanji’s love for luffy being such a vocal and tangible thing in opla somehow makes whole cake even more painful that it already is
i watch this clip and am utterly heartbroken over the fact that in a little over two years sanji is going to truly believe he could get luffy to give up on and leave him, attempting to do so in a way that kills a part of him with every blow because his self worth is so low and that luffy would rather starve to death and rip off his own arms than lose sanji
Compound bows? Fixed it mate!

There’s a certain folkloric idea that if you die at sea, your soul is sort of. Inextricably stuck in the sea. Because your body is irretrievable, your soul is also irretrievable, down out of the reach of the gods who look at the surface of the world. In Norse mythology, they said that the souls of sailors who died at sea are caught in the sea-goddess Rán’s net and dragged into her domain, a distinct and separate afterlife alongside Hel and Valhalla. Davy Jones Locker. The funayūrei. A lot of cultures agree that once sea has a hold on you, even when your body has rotted and dwindled and been made food for crabs, it still won’t let you go.
Do you think we’re going to wind up saying the same thing about astronauts.
RIP to the legend
This goose fucking rocks and had a crazy life!
I really just have to summarize Thomas's entire life:
He was in a committed relationship with a male swan named Henry for 18-24 years before a female swan named Henrietta showed up and mated with Henry.
Thomas was initially jealous of the pair and attacked them, breaking 2 of the 5 eggs Henrietta had laid. However, once the remaining eggs hatched, Thomas warmed up to them and helped raise them.
Henry couldn't fly because of an injured wing, so Thomas taught the cygnets how to fly.
When they needed to reduce the goose population in the pond where Thomas and the swans lived, they dyed Thomas's feathers red so he wouldn't be separated from Henry.
Henry, Henrietta, and Thomas remained in their happy throuple for years and raised 68 cygnets before Henry died in 2009. After Henry's death, Henrietta found another swan and flew away, leaving Thomas alone.
Thomas finally met and mated with a female goose in 2011 and had his own babies. However, another goose named George stole them and raised them himself.
As Thomas grew elderly and blind, he was relocated to a wildlife center where he raised orphaned cygnets.
His caretaker at the center described him as "pretty high maintenance."
Thomas died in 2018 at the age of around 40. He had a funeral that included a small coffin and a procession that was led by a bagpiper. He was buried under the stone where Henry was buried, the two finally reunited in death.
Before and after his death, Thomas has been celebrated as an icon of the LGBTQ+ community for obvious reasons.
So I found out today that you can order frozen cakes from the grocery store bakery, and I got really excited about this idea. Like, if you have the freezer space, you can just have an emergency cake ready at all times, just in case!
Then I remembered that I don't really have family, don't host parties, don't do holidays, and live in the middle of a decently-sized city less than a block away from a grocery store (and multiple bakeries). There's basically no scenario in my life where a) we need an emergency cake and b) I can't just go out and buy one with minimal effort.
I still love the concept of having an emergency cake for unforeseen circumstances, though.
@pepbotnik Honestly, fair. Didn't think of that.
When people say things like "Behold the Accursed One!" that doesn't imply any ill intent on their part -- quite often it's meant as a neutral or even helpful statement. But the problem with this sort of language is that, however well-intentioned it may be, it foregrounds the curse at the expense of the person behind it; auguries have shown that this can have a priming effect that subtly reduces empathy. For that reason, experts today encourage people to use one-first language, such as "Behold the One who Bears the Curse," to better emphasize the dignity of the individual.
