“So the whole gang is banded back together again.” How lucky for them to all remain friends even after all the missed connections the years brought. Kisumi had been a little envious that he couldn’t see his friends on both side of the spectrum as much with also attending a different school himself.
”Ah I’m still playing basketball. Training for the upcoming regional tournaments. Hopefully my team will pull through and win the championship.” That’d be the dream, after all this would be his last chance to play with his teammates like this again. Kisumi would have to think seriously about his future and decide if basketball is what he wants to do.
Shaking his head as if it would help to keep those bugging thoughts at bay, he pocketed his hands before speaking up. “I”m gonna have to visit everyone soon. I want to see you and Sousuke and action again. Don’t tell Sousuke but I’ll cheer for you this time.”

The "gang" really was. All this time, Haru thought she had been fine with just being with Makoto, and doing whatever she could to swim, be it ocean or . . . fish tank on the side. But when Nagisa came along and they made the club, and then Rei joined and Haru found herself swimming alongside Rin again . . . the world she hadn't known was off-center to begin with suddenly balanced. This was what she wanted. To swim, with her team. And it was all she could ever want. Right?
The future seemed so clear for others, but for Haru, it wasn't as simple. Free. That was her only goal, but as the end of the year was quickly approaching, that idea was pulling further and further out of reach. Listening to Kisumi go on about his basketball tournaments made her wonder if he knew what he wanted to do with his life, or if he was like the rest of them, and just --- drifting along with the present.
Sousuke. The mention of the swimmer brought up . . . unpleasant memories of the last time they had talked, and everything he had said about Rin. But Haru pushed it behind her, giving a sigh as she turned to the side. "Ah. We'll go see you, too." Basketball wasn't all that interesting to Haru, but it had been a while since she had seen Kisumi play, and she could already guess that Makoto would want to go, anyway.
