snape could’ve been an awesome teacher if he wasn’t a disgusting waste of a human being. he knew from age 16 that the instuctions that the textbooks were giving weren’t as good as they could be. he improved the potions and recorded his methods at age 16. if he weren’t such a shitbag, he could’ve either written the damn textbooks himself, or taught his students his alternate methods. he could’ve revolutionized how potions were being brewed, teaching whole generations a superior method of potion brewing. instead, he spent his time bullying children.

“Well, all my jokes are funny. So it must not be,” Micky said, aware that he was getting defensive of the wrong thing. He was already wondering why he’d told Mike to begin with, except he couldn’t very well not. “But it doesn’t even matter ‘cause I can’t afford to be sick. I’d have to sell a kidney. And an arm…and a leg. I’m probably better off now.” He laughed in a high-pitched, awkward way and picked up his drum sticks to have something to putz around with.

“Thanks,” Mike replied, taking a bite of his food as wel before answering the question. He wasn’t sure if Micky wanted him to, really, but he figured that if Micky was acting for it, he could as well. Besides, Micky was actually using silverware correctly; clearly he was playing the role as best as he could.

“Well,” he began, pretending to think it over, “I play in a band with three other guys. One of em’ can play almost any instrument, another can sing better than anyone I’ve ever heard, and the third one’s name is Micky.” He shot Micky a grin, to show he was teasing, before adding, “I’m just kiddin’. You’re a better singer than Davy. Don’t let him know that, though. He might get jealous.”

“He knows I’m better than him,” Micky said with a dismissive wave and a grin, “That’s why all the girls go to him, to tell him how much more they like me.” He’d much rather listen to Davy or Mike, personally. His own voice was good, too, but its real edge was being more commercial, he thought–though that hadn’t exactly gotten them anywhere. It was neither here nor there, really; he still beamed at Mike’s compliment.

“That’s funny, though. I play in a band, too. We’re world famous, The Monkees.” He started to put a proud hand to his chest, until he realized he was still wielding his knife; his gut instinct,strangely, was to lean away from himself with eyes wide before it was to put the knife down. He coughed and tried to play this off, “I bet you’ve heard of us.”
