anargentsituationâ:
How many times would Allison escape death?
As her chest suddenly rose with breath and her eyes opened, she found herself wondering if she was secretly a cat or something. How else could she justify the amount of times sheâd nearly died? Or hell, in this situation, had died.Â
Arrow. Mike. Rocky. Oh god. Were they okay?!
Standing on shaky legs sheâd run, run faster than a typical human should be able toâŠ. Oh. So thatâs what this was? Focusing, she did her best to increase her heart rate, to will herself to do something. There was a prickling in her gums and as she made it out of the woods and right by a row of shops, she saw herself in the reflection of a store window. Her skin was a darker purple color, mottled with blackish spots and one eye shone a bright green, the other blue. She⊠The eye thing wasnât normal. But, the other markings were a dead giveaway for someone who had studied the bestiary as much as she had. Werejaguar. This was impossible. Sheâd never been bitten. But, here she was. In all her damn Werejaguar glory. A hysterical laugh bubbled up from her chest and she couldnât help but think her earlier assumption about being a goddamn cat had been a bit right, now.Â
Calming her heart rate, the supernatural features dissipated. She was herself again, but she knew now. Those things that had killed her- and Theo Raeken- they were⊠Turning them into supernatural creatures somehow. Thinking back, her eyes widened. Crystal Rose. Laura Hale. It all made sense now.
The weight of the knowledge on her shoulders, Allison started towards her and Mikeâs apartment. It was possible that he wasnât staying there, but something told her he was. It may have been where she died, but it was also their home. The place that had the freshest memories of them together. Plus, moving Arrowâs things could be taxing on a day you werenât mentally drained.Â
Finally, she was at the door and she let herself in, the code on the door making her glad theyâd sprung for a slightly nicer place that didnât require keys 24/7. Slipping inside, she heard Mike rustling about in the bedroom. Padding down the hallway she knocked on the doorframe lightly once she caught sight of him, holding her hands up defensively before he could even react.Â
âItâs me, Mike.. Iâm home.â
To say Mike was drained was an understatement. When he was a teenager which was ironically only a few years ago, settling down, being engaged and having two kids was not planned. Sure, Rocky hadnât been planned, but it was different between him and Allison. They were in love and planned to be together forever, especially since he had proposed to her not too long ago. And then she was taken away from him, from her father again, and he was lost. He wasnât cut out to be a single father again, to two kids that needed both their mother and father. Rocky kept asking questions about when Allison was coming back, and he still couldnât figure out how to tell him what happened. He was drained, both emotionally and mentally, and he wasnât sure he could hold it together much longer.Â
Rocky had easily gone to bed on his own, and after a small struggle, Arrow had finally fallen asleep. Mike was in their... his... bedroom, sitting on the edge of the bed, shoulders hunched over just about ready to let his emotions out. But dating Allison, after she had revealed what was really going on in the world, had made him more aware of his surroundings. He heard movement from outside in the hallway, slower than Rockyâs footsteps when he wanted a drink in the middle of the night. He reached over to his bedside as the footsteps got closer, grabbing the statue that sat there. As the door opened he reached it above his head, ready to toss it at whoever thought theyâd get away with breaking in.Â
The stress and color drained from his face as the words hit his ears, his arm lowering and dropping the statue to the floor with a dull thud. â...Allison?â He questioned, slowly moving towards her, afraid this was a dream. Arms reached out, one going to her waist the other to her face, he let out a breath he didnât realize he was holding in. âAllison.â He breathed out in relief, forehead resting against hers.Â
