The more I read about and talk to other cops, the more it reinforces that the goofy stuff you encounter while policing is the same no matter where (or when) you work. This little gem is an excerpt from "Blue Blood" by Edward Conlon. Conlon worked for NYPD in the 90s, in various roles including patrol, street-level narcotics and CID. So far I really like the book; it's funny and engaging. You don't have to love cop stuff to enjoy it, as it's more than just a book about being "on the job". #butyoudonthavetotakemywordforit
