Jekyll and Hyde AU in which Lanyon doesn’t die after discovering Henry’s secret and promises to keep it but is still angry at him for 1) doing the stupid science and 2) being a literal monster, so he tries to subtly snitch it to Utterson in increasingly funny ways, like saying “I’m not saying they’re the same person but have you ever seen Jekyll and Hyde in the same room at the same time?” out loud

I want to say that Jekyll is a rather ambiguous character. Yes, it is a pity that he died through carelessness in his experiments... but I have only recently begun to think that he really enjoyed being Edward Hyde. He felt incredibly free, and even though he knew he was wreaking havoc in London, he didn't want to let go of that feeling. And Mr. Hyde isn't just pure evil, it's Henry's secret desires...
