He felt his smile grow wider as she stepped into his arms - something he couldn’t seem to keep at bay like he once used to. It was a smile reserved only for her, even if she couldn’t see it - a smile only she had ever been able to pull from him. Shawn’s eyes flitted closed with a contented sigh, listening to the soft sound of her humming and letting it relax him.
His arms tightened reflexively around her as the song ended, almost as if he were still afraid to lose her after all this time. After all, how could you fully trust something that was far too good to be true? But she didn’t back away yet, either, and he turned his head to kiss her cheek. He looked up then at the same time she did, his eyebrows furrowing as his arms loosened a bit. “Uh, yeah, about that….” Shawn started, meeting her gaze and letting the rest of the sentence go unfinished as he saw she’d noticed the snow, too.
Julia looked out at the snow, only starting to realize the weather had drastically changed since they had arrived. “Oh.” She blinked. “Oh, dear.” She tried to sound sorry, but found that she couldn’t. The edges of her lips curled into a smile that she didn’t try to fight. Her eyes sparkled as they locked onto his, forgetting in the moment that as a witch she could just apparate.
“I guess you’ll have to put up with me for a little while longer.” She bit lip lip. “Are you sure you can bear it?” she asked softly, her lips inches from his. There was no where else she’d rather be or anyone she’d rather be with. Right now, everything was perfect.
