Philipp hainke’s organico utilizes traditional and renewable resources for the development of a new, innovative material. presented during milan design week, the collection of chairs and partitioners combines nature and technology with a material that contributes to a new and sustainable way of thinking about materiality and product life cycles.

he unique texture is the result of the manufacturing process

using an adhesive composed from calcium hydroxide and casein, the designer pressed hemp fibers and shives into solid shapes. through extensive research, the optimal composition and structure was found for a sandwich material with a cover of hemp fiber mat and a core of hemp shives that is stable and light at the same time.

the pieces are designed to function as a group

in a unique, purposeful way, the objects preserve the archaic character of their resources with a clear design that does not forfeit sensuality. the significance of the project can also be seen in the research of various ways of processing and using the material to introduce a new sustainable method.

the various objects nilufar depot exhibited show visitors lina bo bardi’s passion for experimenting with materials and shapes, giving her creations a very special meaning and use. mediating between her traditional italian architectural education and desire for innovative and surprising design, bo bradi created unique pieces which still boast an original, unexpected image and thoughtful functionality.

being incredibly simple in shape, morisson’s chair for emeco shows us that the material and engineering of a chair are critical design considerations. the one-piece mono-block stackable chair is made with 90% industrial waste material consisting of 75% waste polypropylene and 15% waste wood fiber and goes in eight colors: blue, bordeaux, sand, brown, dark grey, green, light grey and ochre red.

Pètal és una cadira versàtil i adaptable a l’usuari, inspirada en les formes orgàniques de les flors. A cada lateral hi ha un panell flexible que permet ser regulat en diferents posicions i d’aquesta manera convertir-lo en un espai d’emmagatzematge personalitzat d’acord amb les necessitats de l’usuari.
