If El and Will swapped roles in the Roller Rink episode nobody would be defending El.

If she was the one constantly sighing in the background of Will and Mike's interactions and going "Why are you lying to him 😡"

Every single person would call her evil and rude. If she started picking a fight with Mike while Will was getting publicly humilated in front of countless people she would be called horrendous things for not standing up for her brother, for not meeting him with empathy and compassion. For not simply trying to understand where he was coming from.

I don't even think what Will did at the roller rink was some crazy unforgivable act i just think the double standards of this fandom are gross.

El was literally shoved and abused and humiliated in the middle of a very public place, she had drinks thrown on her and loud music playing in her ears, it was so bad it triggered her ptsd from her lab trauma and all anyone cares about is Wiw being "left out" for fifteen minutes.

Is it just me or do a lot of people over-exaggerate Wills importance to Mike? I think their shipping lenses is clouding them because Will isnt any different or more special to Mike than say, Lucas, or Dustin. Will and Mikes relationship has always been centered around Will and his feelings, never Mike. I think a lot of bylers miss the point of Will’s arc, and have conflated their interpretations of Mike and Will in fanon as how they actually are in the show.

It’s also disheartening to see bylers downplay what Mike has done for his other friends, say when he was willing to jump off a cliff for Dustin, and make it all about Will.
