Also @mileven11forever was me all along btw. I thought it would be interesting and fun to roleplay as a Mileven, and it was. Somehow the BS I made up in my posts on there ended up being more accurate than any actual coherent analysis from the Byler community. Make it make sense.

I was going to have some fun with it and wait longer to reveal my secret identity but I don't even care anymore after the stupidity that was ST5. In doing this I actually did develop more of an appreciation for Mileven (in season 1 and 2 anyway), and understood their perspectives better. It was definitely an interesting experience, would recommend.

And side note, it's really sad that the person who was dubbed "The Nicest Mileven Ever™" was actually an undercover Byler. Do better Milevens. ┐⁠(⁠￣⁠ヘ⁠￣⁠)⁠┌

Im neutral on byler but i loveee platonic mileven.

A romantic bond isnt always the strongest bond you can have with someone, it'd be so great to see an unbreaking bond between the "main" girl and the "main" boy in a show.

i think that is a completely under underrated trope, especially when both the characters have some romantic attraction to the opposite gender (unlike robin and steve, even though i love their dynamic) i wanna see het woman and het men be best friends!! Pleaasee!!

(I do hc mike as gay though, so i guess it wouldnt count if that became canon)

do you still think milevens gonna be canon? Ive shipped since s1 but now im having doubt abt it. If you really think abt it mike+El got together like days after she literally escaped a lab, so ig maybe it was never a healthy ship in the first place. And she didn't really understand romantic relationships (doubt they teach lab kids abt that, lol)

I'm still pretty conflicted and not entirely sure, but I think Mileven is still more likely to be canon based on everything I've seen in the show. But we'll just have to wait and find out together. Whatever happens I'm sure it'll turn out well. :)

Don’t worry. I agree with you. Most milevens are feeling the same including me. I think it’s pretty obvious what they’re doing and setting up now. It’s just a show at the end of the day. If they’re canon we can be pleasantly surprised! But even if byler isn’t happening, I do not think they’re endgame. We have had multiple seasons of them that we can enjoy and fanfic!

Shipping in this fandom has definitely gotten way too serious.

People shouldn’t be arguing over which ship is ‘better’, shipping is literally meant to be for fun and it’s just your personal preference.

That being said, thank you for being so respectful about these things, all those people saying you ‘broke too easily’ are just toxic.

hey, as someone who was a mileven and then became a byler, i appreciated your post and how you considered a different view 🫶🏻 also, im a cinematographer/story artist who is also in school to become a therapist, so i have a unique viewpoint on all this. i can say that from a visual storytelling perspective, yes, byler has been setup, whether they choose to follow thru or not, but im confident they will based on statements the duffers have made abt doing whats best for the story and sticking with their original plan, regardless of how divisive it might be. also, i wanted to say im specializing in treating LGBTQIA+ populations, and we have entire book chapters on supporting families when a spouse comes to terms with their sexuality and how it is incompatible with their partner. these are real, common issues, and i appreciate you giving voice to it.

I've definitely been conflicted a few times about my thoughts and feelings on the ships, but I now do believe that Mileven is far more likely to be endgame, I just understand why other people think Byler being endgame is also a possibility. I understand some of their points but I usually just don't agree completely and interpret things differently in a way that aligns with Mileven. But I support people having different interpretations that align with Byler.

I'm literally not a Byler and I've said this multiple times now. I still 100% prefer Mileven and ship them and still believe they are more likely to be endgame. People like you really need to stop telling me what community I should be identifying with when you actually have no idea what my feelings about the ships are. I don't ship Byler, I just understand why other people do. I still think Mike and El are the better couple, but I also see why a lot of people find Mike and Will to be a cute couple possibly too.
