That being said, I do have a small ficlet to accompany this art so I hope you can wait for it! (maybe a new year present instead? hehe) I read your prompts and yes to everything domestic kaishin and my mind just went about vlogger!kaito just recording him and his boyfriend being cuddly in the winter and the viewers just appreciating their banters instead.

Part of the gift for @dcmksecretsanta 2020 (p/s: to Sabrina, I really can’t thank you enough for hosting).
The bucket of chicken and pot of curry has gone cold, the chocolate topping on the cake pops drifting down their sticks, the ice reserved for the drinks melting into a watery slush and the camera’s battery all but drained.
A KaiShin vlogger!au under the cut!
At present Kaito has Shinichi backed into an unoccupied corner of the room where every other spot has had blinking and sparkly Christmas decorations courtesy of their family and friends.
“Shin-chan please I’m willing to get on my knees for this,” there’s a pleading tone used in his voice but Shinichi knows better than to fall for the scripted face Kaito is pulling. His boyfriend is, after all, the master of disguise and Shinichi will be damned if he can’t tell that after all these years of push and pull.
“No,” Shinichi says, curt, even when Kaito inches uncomfortably closer to him. This is a battle of endurance and Shinichi is damn sure he has plenty left in him.
Kaito had planned on recording a Christmas celebration vlog as well as some Q&A for his last YouTube video of 2020 and Shinichi had heard about this two weeks before, even going so far as suggesting ideas about the content of the video and even arranging for Hattori to appear in the vlog through a video call. Heck, even the Christmas food that is now just sadly waiting for them on the table specifically set up for vlog are all courtesy of his idea.
Shinichi had suggested that Kaito asks his acquaintances to bring over some food as a way to feature them in his video without actually being filmed if they don’t want to (of course the Professor gleefully had Kaito filming him when he and Haibara showed up at their doorsteps to drop off their curry, and when Nakamori-san came by to deliver her cake she even threatened to hit Kaito with anything she can find the next time they meet at the university.)
Now rewind 30 minutes ago, when Kaito so nonchalantly announced that he’ll be recording the video with Shinichi by his side to answer the question, ‘Are you single?’ and that’s when all hell breaks loose. Kaito has more than 100k subscribers and is Shinichi really? Does he really? Is there a need really? For Shinichi to show his face to all those people- Shinichi resists the urge to throw up.
Now do not get him wrong; Shinichi most definitely do not have stage fright nor is he afraid to show his face to the public (seriously, Teitan High School Mr Handsome title is still fresh in his mind) but there’s something about Kaito introducing him as his boyfriend making him, well, nervous.
“Kaito, let me go and we can resume recording your vlog. Your batteries are gonna run out soon!” he tries reasoning.
Wrong move. That just made Kaito more desperate, if anything.
“Shin-chan please. I really, really, really want to introduce you to my followers and let them know we’re dating.”
Shinichi looks sideways to the floor. Kaito really knows where to hit him with puppy eyes and pleads. Where random forces won’t work, sad faces can really pull Shinichi closer.
“Kaito…” Shinichi knows this is the last of his resistance threads still holding on-
“I just wanna show off my super amazing boyfriend to everyone and tell them how lucky I am to have you!”
Shinichi can just hear the threads breaking off.
Okay, fine. Just once. Okay.
And, just like all shenanigans Kaito had always managed to pull off all these years despite whatever efforts Shinichi had made to escape or take no part in, of course Kaito had pulled off one during the recording too. The red Shinichi has on his cheeks when he sees the vlog’s thumbnail a week later definitely overpowers the one that the Shinichi on the vlog’s thumbnail had as Kaito kissed him on the cheek.

Hi Nana! Agh, how does December always sneak by so quickly? I can't believe Christmas is in two days! O.O Probably I should wrap some presents. But speaking of presents! I kind of have two fics for you? My original plan and the HS AU that ate my soul the other week. I was going to post them both at once because, y'know, surprises, but the first one is taking longer than I thought. SO! Kaito grins at the last sentence, purposely yanks Shinichi by the waist closer to him and Shiho rolls her eyes in response as she slips her flats on.

“-and it’s Miyano to you, Kuroba-kun,” Shiho says and for a second it’s ice cold, and another she is already out of the door, leaving only Kaito and Shinichi in the space that now feels too large for two people. Really, Shinichi should already be used to the quiet corridors and halls four times the span of his arms spread but maybe it is just the fact that everyone was bustling in his living space minutes ago that is getting to him. Ran had done the favour of sending the children back to their houses with the help of Sonoko.
“Hey,” Kaito says, pulling Shinichi closer, “-I’m still here you know.”
Shinichi smiles and leads Kaito to a bean bag right by the Christmas tree. Courtesy of his parents who are currently in New York, that one. Though the one who selected the tree was no other than his boyfriend who is currently giggling and holding their hands up together.
“You just had to pick the ugliest tree and decorations don’t you?” Shinichi asks, hugging a pillow and making himself comfortable in Kaito’s lap. For a moment Kaito wanted to mention how touchy Shinichi is behaving tonight but decides to keep it to himself lest Shinichi turns unbearably red and decides to distance himself at least a meter away.
“Simplicity is the best, I think,” he hums into the crown of Shinichi’s hair instead. Shinichi smells like the cake the Professor baked earlier.
“Yeah, but you knew the kids would come! Ayumi and Genta must've wanted to hang some wishes on the tree.”
“Then aren’t we lucky that Professor Agase bought another one in his house!” Kaito laughs, bringing Shinichi’s head to rest on his chest. They stay like that for a few minutes and Shinichi considers saying something embarrassing (that in his defence, is long overdue) until distant fireworks rang outside the window. He conceals a sigh but his face turns red all the same yet it is all okay when he looks up and sees Kaito gently looking at him through patient eyes.
‘Maybe next time. Definitely next time,’ Shinichi promises himself.
