Some more ORV events that happened in my tomodachi life game :)
KDJ loves his train room. Cause of course he does. He did decide to stay there in the end š
Guess who also reads TWSA in that trainā¦yupā¦KDJā¦
Lee Hakhyun admiring KDJās face and drawing him in the sand
Self-explanatory
DKOS specifically loves to follow everyone around (mainly the different regressions of YJH š)
I also have a video of KDJ and SP becoming friends over the fourth wall. Cause you know, they need the fourth wall for that final scenario or whatever š
I finally made KDJās DKOS form and the first thing he decides to say to me is THIS???
Actually sobbing š
AND THEN HE JUST READS TWSA
WHY IS HE BEING SO LORE ACCURATE
He asks me for a book because he wants to read. So I create TWSA for him. He likes it. Now he just reads. He decides to go out for once but still decides to just read.
I make him meet another villager but he would rather read than make friends because WHY DID THEY END UP BOTH BEING SAD AFTER TALKING
You know what DKOS did right after that event? Go back to reading TWSA š
Alright pack it up Kim Dokja. Iām not trying to cry over a game where Iām trying to make your dream come true of living in a big house with everyone
Below is a short and comprehensive guide on how to read the most recent chapters with machine translation.
There are four parts:
1. Where can I find the original chapters?
2. How do I get a KakaoPage account/buy chapters?
3. How do I translate the chapters?
4. What are some things to watch out for when you MTL?
1. Where can I find the original chapters?
You can find the original chapters at KakaoPage, a Korean webnovel platform.
GDCG/GSGW chapters at KakaoPage
By buying from this platform, you can directly support and reward the author's efforts in writing this novel!
2. How do I get a KakaoPage account/buy chapters?
The below guide explains everything from making a kkp account to buying episodes.
Top Up Credits on KakaoPage and Buy Chapters
Follow the guide exactly! For example, don't use a google account to log in to kkp, because then you won't be able to access the pages on web.
For GDCG, each episode ticket costs 100 coin (10 cents). You can also get free coins from events - I haven't needed to top up for months due to stocking up on tickets thanks to event coins during hiatus.
New accounts also get 15 free rental tickets!
+ Added a new guide : 'How to Get Free Coins on KakaoPage'
3. How do I translate the chapters?
The above guide recommends opennovel because it was written by opennovel. It's an AI translation service that you have to pay to use.
Most people I know use chrome web browser to access the episodes, and use chrome's default translation function.
I also recommend using a browser called 'immersive translate' if you know a bit of Korean, since it allows you to look at the og text and the translated text at the same time, which can be helpful for catching mistranslations. You can choose which translation engine to use - the default is Microsoft, which is pretty terrible, so I recommend changing it to Google.
Immersive Translate (playstore link / chrome extension link)
Whichever way you choose, be careful to set your KakaoPage viewer to scroll mode instead of page mode, as page mode can cause texts to be omitted.
4. What are some things to watch out for when you MTL?
The below sheet contains a list of character names and what MTL can translate them as. (Look at the character tab)
It is currently incomplete but contains the major ones.
GDCG MTL Guide (contains character names)
+ eta: I've added a 'common mistranslation' tab as well!
Another thing to watch out for is pronouns. Because Korean often omits pronouns, MTL has to make up a pronoun when translating to English. This can result in mistranslation. When in doubt, look at the context.
I also try to do a write-up of mistranslations and details every episode on the 'gdcg review' tag of my tumblr.
Episode Review tag (includes tl help)
The mistranslation corrections are based on what people ask me on discord, so if you have any specific translation questions, don't hesitate to send me a tumblr ask!
I started reading the side stories for ORV finally and came across this screenshot:
This made me remember how in the beginning of the ORV novel, KDJ was shocked that YJH kept Cheon Inho alive during the second scenario when he usually just kills him off so he doesnāt cause any problems.
Reading the side stories made me realize that this screenshot is probably why YJH (of the ā3rdā but actually the 1864th round) didnāt care about killing him. Because Cheon Inho could potentially be a good guy in this round like he was in the 41st.
Although YJH ālostā his memories during this time (because again we are meant to believe he is in his 3rd round and not his 1864th one) there were always a bunch of inconsistencies where he would remember certain things that shouldnāt have happened yet because they supposedly occurred in his later regressions. (Unless Iām delusional and there werenāt inconsistencies like this BUT HEAR ME OUT)
Maybe YJH subconsciously remembered that Inho wasnāt always a bad guy. WHICH MAKES IT MAKE SENSE THAT HE DIDNāT KILL HIM BUT INSTEAD IGNORED HIM. BECAUSE HE TRUSTED HIM BEFORE.
KDJ just thought YJH was too busy to deal with Inho because he wanted to set up or get ahead for the next scenarios. But in the side stories, doesnāt YJH allow Inho to care for the people at the station himself? Something like a test to see if he actually changed? (Itās been awhile since I read that part so I canāt remember exactly š)
Sometimes I wonder how much thought the authors put into this story to make it all connect like this. Like was it planned that YJH ignored Inho in the novel so that in the side stories we find out that Inho is actually a huge part of the story now? Or was it coincidence and they found that they could exploit that plot point for the side stories?
Cause you think that sometimes itās just bad planning that YJH remembered something that happened in his future rounds when he was supposedly in his 3rd, but then we get hit with the plot twist that heās actually on his 1864th and that changes EVERYTHING when we read the story and itās āinconsistencies.ā
As Lee Sookyung said to KDJ:
āHowever, just because it is the end doesnāt mean youāve seen the whole story. Read it again.ā
ā Interpretation of Jung Heewon and Yoo Mia meeting for the first time ā
Heewon: Alright, target (Mia) acquired. Sh!t, donāt we need to capture this stationās flag for the scenario? How the hell am I supposed to bring this whole ass flag pole to Dokja?!
Mia: I have an idea! Can you break the area surrounding the flag pole?
Dokja can bullshit his way through ORV because he reads twsa and knows what to say to twsa characters like biyoo so you need to do the same with your study
ā¦..not even six hours later i got an offer of a well paying full time long-term job with free room and board in queens in nyc, allowing me independence and a way to escape an abusive situation and an unhealthy environment
