okay i love this question so much!! i've been thinking about these for a while

shen's coffee order of choice is the dunkin brown sugar shaken espresso. it is yummy and a little fun but more than anything that shit will have you AWAKE you will be hearing colors (he also loves a good chocolate glazed donut but his favorite are the heart-shaped ones they only have around valentine's day)

walsh and ellis are hookup partners. it started because there was one day where they both stayed at the hospital during the day shift and there was only one free cot to sleep on and they ended up curled up together having the best nap of their LIVES and it just developed from there. neither has the time or desire for a long-term thing but they are very close friends and very intimate with each other

similar story with henderson and shen. their relationship is newer, but they literally knew from the first shift they worked together that they just clicked

most of the night shift has abbot's credit card numbers memorized. abbot is the first to offer to buy food/coffees/etc. for his doctors, half because he cannot HANDLE their whining and half because he cares for them

abbot tells everyone a different story about how he lost his leg, kind of to deflect from the reality and kind of because it's hilarious to watch med students censor each other desperately because they're afraid of triggering memories from a shark attack or a firework accident that never happened

walsh is actually a sweetheart, but she's aware that to be taken seriously as a surgeon, she needs to put up a tough facade. one year, she brings in homemade sufganiyot for hanukkah and leaves it in the break room. nobody knows who brought them in, and it takes a full week for anyone to guess her

they all have insane caffeine addictions. abbot says that his isn't that bad (it is) because he only drinks black coffee. the only exception is walsh, partially because she's seen too many cardiac horror stories and partially because her time in the air force has trained her to be incredibly disciplined, so she's one of the few on the night shift who ever get enough sleep

After the wedding, Alex tells me I have to pull a card, play whatever game it says. Some kind of initiation ritual, which I thought was weird, but I wanted them to like me because they were gonna be my new family. Anyway, I pull hide-and-seek, and it gets real quiet, because apparently… that's the bad card. And they think they have to try to sacrifice me to the devil. They told me I could win if I stayed hidden till dawn. But they thought if I won, they'd die. So they hunted me. I got… shot through the hand. Beat to shit by a butler. Then my… my husband stabbed me.

thank you the pitt season 2 for having so many complex female characters that i'm overwhelmed with all of the representation. thank you the pitt season 2 for having representation of a character who struggles with sexual assault trauma and a self-harm addiction. thank you the pitt season 2 for depicting a rape survivor in a beautifully careful and loving and respectful light. thank you the pitt season 2 for unflinchingly depicting the way that women and women of color are spoken over in professional settings despite their expertise. thank you the pitt season 2 for having gentle male characters like donnie and dennis and mateo for men and boys to look up to and emulate. thank you the pitt season 2 for refusing to soften the ugly realities of suicidality and mental illness. thank you the pitt season 2 for refusing to be silent on the kidnappings and murders of people of color at the hands of a state-sponsored terrorist organization. thank you the pitt season 2 for including people and languages from all around the world. thank you the pitt season 2 for bringing awareness to the epidemic of violence against women. thank you the pitt season 2 for appreciating nurses, particularly in a time where nurses were and are fighting for fair treatment. thank you the pitt season 2 for depicting religious solidarity at a time of incredible hatred and vitriol particularly against jews and muslims. thank you the pitt season 2 for depicting addicts and recovering addicts with empathy and love. thank you the pitt season 2 for repeatedly emphasizing how the current administration's gutting of funding for medical programs and healthcare has and will continue to brutally kill people.

thank you the pitt season 2 for emphasizing that there is no replacement for real human minds and real human empathy.

thinking about the scene where ursula finds titus attacking faith. because she sounds so genuinely panicked and scared when she tells him to stop, and i don’t think it’s just that he’s “wasting time”. seeing the harm he can cause in such a short period - seeing faith, an innocent casualty of their games, bloodied on the floor - i think that’s the moment that solidifies for her how terrible her brother (her whole family) really is
