BLUNT
We're trying out the new name. Let us know what you think!
Just Call Me Gisele
It just occurred to me that the blog's comeback is in sync with Gisele's. Have you seen her lucious locks in the pantenepro-v commercials? Or what about her flawless au-natural look on the cover of the very first issue of netaporter's new magazine, Porter.
Well... looks like our comeback is in good company!
On this snowy morning...Â
Step 1: Naming the Baby
In revamping my blog to make it bigger and better, I decided I wanted to pursue this endeavor with you. Yes, you. I want you to help me by sending or commenting your thoughts, opinions, critiques, whatevers! Send them my way! I can take it, I swear.Â
Our first task is the one I consider to be the biggest: renaming the blog. Below I have attached a picture of my brainstorming. Clearly, I need your help. This is the most crucial part to my blog because it will lead to a logo, instagram account (I know you all want to see what I'm doing 24/7), making a twitter (but I rather not), and exposing you all to my fabuloso obsession of Pintrest. This, of course, is all contingent to my media dreams.
Anyway, I'll be wrecking my brain for a new name, so I'm looking forward to any suggestions.
Thank you jcrew for the gypset canvas notebook
Don't Call It A Comeback
But yeah... it's basically a comeback.
Under the conditions of my anxiety-ridden young-adult existential crisis of "what I should be when I grow up," I am bringing the blog back! (Because it's really what I love to do -- but the fact that I just decided to write that in quotes alarms me to the issue that I'm trying to suppress my writing bug).
You see, I used to aspire to become the publisher of some big, trendy magazine -- ("used to" referring to last semester). My desire to pursue a career in media and journalism led to wild dreams of living a glamorous life in my hometown of Manhattan with fashion shows, free designer clothes, and getting to wear dope outfits everyday. (Very wild dreams, but a girl can dream, right?!) Then there was a quick stint with pursuing a master's in policy, but I've pretty much forgotten about that by now. And now this semester I became very excited about my concentration, Global Public Health, thanks to my interesting public health classes and professors. So - at what probably began the existential crisis - I started to aggressively apply to public health summer internships back home because I believe this summer (before senior year) is crucial to my résumé and could possibly set me up for a great job for after college.Â
The crisis really escalated when my roommate was on the edge of obtaining a summer internship with Guest of a Guest, a place I had been planning on applying to for a summer internship when I was an aspiring publisher. I wasn't jealous, but it raised the "what if" questions in me -- the debate between pursuing a career in media or public health.
For the past week, the debate about my future has been stressing me the fuck out.
So now, you lucky few in the audience out there get a front row seat to my inner thoughts* in trying to figure out what to be when I grow up while I undergo my own project of making my blog the best that it can be. This might be giving a bit too much information.. but I'm starting to believe that my eagerness to blog again may be the manifestation of my attempt to control something amid everything else that seems to be out of my control. If you're not looking for anything serious, it's cool, I understand. But you can find me here, updating my blog and posting here and there.Â
See you soon!
xx
 *anxieties - let's be real.

Look Out! Obama is watching you.... (not really)
Such a funny BuzzFeed article on the Obama administration & NSA's eavesdropping.Â
Lampin' for MDW: How Manhattanites Kick Off the Summer
Although the weather was saying differently… Summer for Manhattanites was officially kicked off with Memorial Day Weekend in the Hamptons!
To the island of Manhattan, MDW means that everyone (and their mothers) finally put their (real) NY Drivers Licenses to use and road trip it to the Hamptons. The people watching begins at the bumper-to-bumper traffic on the L.I.E., spotting friends piled into cars heading out west. While it can be quite annoying for everyday Hampton activities, (i.e. grabbing your breakfast chocolate croissant and iced coffee at the Golden Pear, attempting to obtain your summer beach pass, or shopping at Intermix in town), it is always a fun-filled weekend with friends and family!
NOTE: Please keep in mind that your friends and family are all piling into your house just to say they are in the Hamptons that weekend. Be prepared to host them again for the 4th of July and Labor Day Weekend.
As you’ve probably gathered, MDW in the Hamptons is a time to see and be seen. For example: Molly Sims shopping in Scoop? Typical. Fighting over the last grapefruit at Citarella with Christie Brinkley? Normal. Alec Baldwin picking up his fresh produce basket from Amber Waves? A weekly occurrence, starting of course on MDW. Regardless of the many celeb-encounters you will have, MDW is the time to show off your new summer wardrobe! However, due to the wind and rain, this MDW was quite different…. Instead of the beautiful summer hues one would expect to see, most people were bundled up in chunky sweaters, booties, scarves and leather jackets. But don’t fret! The weather in NYC seems to be (finally) looking up! So make sure to strut those new summer outfits to your new internship. And there is always July 4th weekend to show off your summer clothes at some Day&Night darties!
PS. If you are still looking for some Hampton summer wardrobe inspiration, check out Guest of a Guest’s Summer Style Guide!
Is it Friday yet...?
80%! That's a lot!

I cannot wait to go visit the new WTC!
It’s kind of insane how spoiled you get growing up in New York City. But when you’re a kid you don’t really give a shit. You’re just so happy to be out walking in the street. You were just so self-sufficient, if you had your friends. You would grab your 40-ounce beer and put it in a paper bag and go sit on the steps of the Met. I remember we would just ride on the subway because it was somewhere to sit and drink beer. Then we would ride back home again. There was a real split between kids that I knew that lived on the East Side and kids that lived on the West Side. The kids from the East Side were a bit more Brooks Brothers, Ralph Lauren. We weren’t quite as popular as they were because when you’re in fourth and fifth grade, girls like the guy that’s got the haircut that everyone else has and is wearing the nice fucking Sebago loafers and some Ralph Lauren top.
Mark Ronson on growing up in NYC... I wish I could go back to when I was growing up in NYC and realize how lucky I was!
Wish I could live everyday like this
After reading this, how many people come to mind that you'd like to say this to?
