Why millennial girls don't golf - 4 reasons participation is lacking and can be fixed.
After reading how millennials are shaping the golf industry I decided to further break down the different types of millennial golfers. I ultimately decided to focus on millennial girl golfers. After reading this HILARIOUS article I am starting to come up with creative ways to expand my girl golf circle and eventually get an all millennial female foursome out on the course.
If interested here are the three millennial golfer archetypes I identified.
Tim aka Not Your Everyday Golfer- 21 years old just graduated college. Enjoys golf as an occasional outing with the guys. Usually is drinking a six pack and using his dads clubs. Doesn't know the difference between his irons.
Patrick aka Mr. Country Club- 28 years old and works in the tech industry. See’s golf as a way to do business outside of the office. Grew up going to the country club with Dad and has owned his own clubs since he was 8. Has a fraternity mindset. VERY up to date with latest trends in golf- from PGA tour to new clubs on the market. Only wears and plays Titleist clubs.
Michelle aka Girls Just Wanna GOLF- 26 years old and works in marketing. See’s golf as a good way to build connections, expand her circle, and meet men. Has a hard time finding other women to golf with- especially in her age range. Grew up with a large family of golfers but didn't want to be a part of the good old boys club. Is looking for female friendly courses, clubs, and better outfits.

I wanted to look at the three types of millennial golfers and how they are shaping the golf industry. This article provided a great amount of insight on how to attract more millennial golfers and how they are the future of the golf industry.
