We heard you decide to major in [EDUCATION STUDIES] at North Chancellor and we can’t wait to welcome you.
𝐁𝐈𝐎𝐆𝐑𝐀𝐏𝐇𝐘
Amelia was born and raised mostly in Los Angeles, California. Her dad was the chief of police and her mum was a brain surgeon which meant there wasn’t much time spent with her parents growing up with them having such busy careers. Most of her childhood was spent with the nanny who did anything her parents wanted her to do with Amelia. She learnt how to ice skate from the age of six and showed a lot of promise as an ice skater. Not that her parents ever really saw much of what she did on the ice but it was a unique thing for her parents to talk about with other parents at social events when she was growing up. Her parents were always very conscious of having the ‘perfect’ family image and this was even more prominent to Amelia as she was becoming of age where she could come to more social events. She could remember the venom her parents would spout about not embarrassing them when they were out as meals at fancy yacht clubs or medical board socials. It was so exhausting to be perfect.
For high school, Amelia went to private school which meant a lot of people around her were kids of very powerful people. Amelia was known for being pretty and naive and a lot of these kids took advantage of her - be that for her kindness or for her body. There was one boy in particular (Landon Raymond) who made a bet that he’d be able to get Amelia to sleep with him at a party. He was successful and filmed it as proof to his friends without Amelia being aware of the phone recording on the dresser. They briefly dated a month after this night for a couple of months until she ended it when she began to feel it wasn’t about anything other than sex. He got angry and decided to post the sex tape on to the internet for everyone to see. Her parents soon found out about it and hated how much of an embarrassment Amelia was to their image. They took her out of private school and told her to go anywhere else but where they were and that they would no longer support her. She was on her own all because of revenge porn. She was angry. Now, Landon’s dad was going for a place in the Californian senate and a scandal like this - their son sleeping with a clearly drunk girl and posting it on the internet - wouldn’t go down too well with voters. At this point, Amelia had nothing else to lose so she went to their house and threatened to take them to court for revenge porn charges as well as distribution of porn involving a minor as Amelia was 17 at the time. This would have ruined his career so Landon’s dad paid her off with a hefty amount involving a penthouse in New York so she could live far far away from them and made his son take down the video from the original source. It didn’t get rid of the video all together but it was a strong start.
Amelia took the plane tickets to fly out to New York and live in her new penthouse that was paid for her. She never spoke to her parents again so they never learnt her fate. In fact, Amelia tends to keep her money a secret and chooses to actually live like she doesn’t have much money for the sake of wanting to do good. She wants to be a teacher and work with less fortunate kids that may not have the best starts in life and to understand them, she chooses to live like she has less money. She indulges from time to time but most of her money is kept in the bank gaining interest and only occasionally does she actually live in her penthouse and choosing to live in the dorms at the university. She knows there is a divide between rich and poor at the school and in all honesty, she likes to watch the chaos it causes and that’s why she likes to portray herself as poor so she can understand what it’s like.
𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐎𝐌 𝐅𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐒
Since she doesn’t really live at her penthouse, she actually rents out one of the rooms to another girl and although, the other girl does pay rent, she only tells her to pay what she can afford. She actually found the girl struggling to pay for a lot of necessities and wanted to help. So occasionally, Amelia goes back to check on her and their shared dog (Onyx) who is a black labrador that mostly the other girl owns and looks after but Amelia actually bought Onyx for the other girl for company.
She usually only stays in the apartment if she is partying in the city and it’s easier to go back there then to go back home but she usually gives her tenant a heads up if she is partying in the city.
She loves watching stars and especially after a little bit to drink. She doesn’t really believe in astrology aka personality traits being defined by zodiacs but she could find most constellations whenever the sky is clear.
She doesn’t really talk much about her family nowadays. She feels hurt and betrayed and yet not surprised by their actions in abandoning her. She tends to just avoid the topic all together if she can by changing the topic or says the very basics without going in to detail.
