Every year, the USDA’s Pesticide Data Program publishes a report on pesticide residues found on a variety of food products.  These detections, measured on >10,000 samples from across the country, tend to be below EPA tolerance levels.  As such, the products are probably safe for human consumption.  However, it’s still interesting to see which foods, particularly fruits and vegetables, have detectable levels of pesticides.  Unless you’re sure your food is organic, you can use this graph to see which produce has a greater diversity of pesticides, and which items are generally pesticide free.  Products like spinach and strawberries often have a lot of pesticides, and may be better purchased organic. Oranges and grapefruits are usually pretty clean, even when conventionally grown.

How Clinton lost Michigan — and blew the election

Operatives watched packets of real-time voter information piled up in bins at the coordinated campaign headquarters. The sheets were updated only when they got ripped, or soaked with coffee. Existing packets with notes from the volunteers, including highlighting how much Trump inclination there was among some of the white male union members the Clinton campaign was sure would be with her, were tossed in the garbage.

Grassroots and data-driven methods don’t have to be mutually exclusive. Yet, it certainly seems like this was the case within the Clinton campaign. Such dysfunction comports with my personal experience in Wisconsin.

Since BeerAdvocate has a Bayesian inspired rating system, the beer need be well rated and reviewed often, which means the beer in question is probably Wisconsin Belgian Red from New Glarus, or one of it’s two counterparts (Serendipity or Raspberry Tart). All three are fire, as far as I’m concerned. 

But, yes. Their sours are better.

New Glarus’ Wisconsin Belgian Red is fantastic. I have fond memories of sharing a bottle of that and two sandwiches from Koppa’s full-belli deli on a bluff over-looking Lake Michigan. So, I guess that proves to me that some fruitbeers can be great.
