And as an aside, I do want to say that this is not meant as shade to any raiders out there. You all are a lovely bunch! But not everyone is comfortable just jumping into the ring, and I'm hoping to cater to those folks. And maybe when they fly the nest with a little more confidence, they'll land in your side of things, ready and willing to give it their all!
[🧠 : What is your OC’s most mentally attractive attribute?] For the ask game, please.
Humble has a few positive mental traits, which certainly could be considered attractive - although equally some might find them off-putting.
He is very straightforward and honest and completely lacking in guile - so if you prefer to avoid mind games and second guessing a partner, then that could be quite an attractive feature. He is gentle and kind (at least outside of combat) and pretty selfless, putting other's needs before his own. He has a strong sense of duty and loyalty and is very protective of those close to him.
Although he is far from academic, he is curious about the world and always shows an interest in other people. And, whilst very powerful and capable in a number of areas, he is invariably modest and respectful.
So if you're primarily attracted to confidence, erudition and scintillating wit, then sadly Humble would almost certainly fail to tickle your intellectual erogenous zones. But if someone happened to have a weakness for a shy, sincere - and slightly socially clumsy - soul, who is kind and loyal, then Humble would be very attractive indeed...
💞 : Do they treat sex casually or do they view it as something with a lot of emotional weight?
Humble definitely loads sex with a huge amount of emotional weight - not just because he is something of a romantic, but also because he is very anxious about getting it wrong or not being good enough at it.
Consequently his attitude towards sex is about as far from casual as it could possibly be - since he tends to view it as an extremely intimidating and complex task, with potentially devastating consequences for failure.
Hopefully, once he actually gets to have sex (which will be happening sooner than he thinks), it won't seem quite so emotionally fraught.
Out of pure curiosity, and since I know we have quite a few anxious folks here, I wanted to see if something was worth hosting;
I know that raids can seem like a lot of pressure, trust me. I've put quite a few off since they're not required content, unless I could run them solo. But the stories they tell are fantastic, and add so much context sometimes, or just have really lovely side stories to tell.
So, if I were to help organize a bi-weekly, no stress or judgement, just vibes raid night for sprouts and anxious folks, where we took on normal raids section by section, or a full AR

Having a patient group is what helped me get into not only normal, but savage raids as well, so I figured this might help some folks experience more of the amazing stories this game has to offer. <3

What was the first thing you decided on, the character's name, appearance, personality or their role in the story?
And reverse, which one of the four things did you struggle with the most?
How did you choose their name and why? Was it simply based on vibes or is there any specific meaning behind the name? Are the reasons behind their name different in- and out of universe?
What was the thought process behind their appearance? Did you go mostly for the aesthetic or are there other reasons they look the way they do?

What is the origin of their personality? And let's be honest - how much of it is projecting?

Is organizing something for reverse-asks (for lack of better term atm) bad manners or a bad idea? It’d basically be an open invite for people to pick from any ask list they want and babble about their own ocs/wols via reblog, inbox, or their own original posts using a specific tag. Sort of like the gpose challenges and writing prompts but with ask games.
Would there be any interest in that? Is it already a thing? I’m not very well connected and I admit I don’t know all of tumblr etiquette. I just think it’d be fun because people could pick something they hoped someone had picked in the past but didn’t. (Or even rework a previously submitted ask)
I think that's a fantastic idea and really creative. I would be happy to boost it and participate and tag people in it!
Putting in the effort to organise something for other people to talk about their OCs is definitely not bad manners or a bad idea - in my experience people can sometimes feel a little shy to talk about their OCs, so having it as an event or game they can participate in can take some of the pressure off them and allow them to have fun.
I'm not sure I'd call myself well-connected, but in my experience getting involved and putting yourself out there like this is a really good way to get more connected at the very least. And Tumblr etiquette is a lot less exacting than you might think - generally the FFXIV community on Tumblr is very nice - as evidenced by the fact that most people tolerate my nonsense - and I'm sure you're a lot more socially aware and less annoying than I am!
So yeah, 100% go for it, but don't put pressure on yourself to get it perfect or to get it done by a certain deadline. I know it will be great :)
this has been an ass month already. somebody come tell me about their favorite minor NPC in XIV, who do you wanna grab and squeeze and let your WoL drag em around like a squeaky toy? define minor here however you wish, I mostly just mean non-reoccurring scion lol
Hoary Boulder naturally. He's one of the few significant Hellsguard characters in the MSQ and although he is definitely a reoccuring Scion, he doesn't get as much attention as I would wish, so I think I'm allowed to see him as a "minor" NPC (and complain about it a bit).
I do like that he's portrayed as such a warm and conscientious character - keeping F'lhaminn safe, caring for the Doman refugee children and travelling to Corvos to help the people after the Final Days.
If I didn't enjoy thinking of him and Coultenet as an item - and shipping Humble with G'raha - then Hoary would be prime rarepair material.
