Matt grins, but he keeps sweeping across the books without looking up to greet her properly. He knew Kizzy was trying her best to hide him, but he came here on purpose even though he denied it. Matt was curious after all, did all of her family have the same intelligence and beauty? Most likely.
Glancing over to her finally, he shrugged before looking back to the books. If she started the conversation, he couldn’t get in trouble right? “Well, it’s a bit complicated isn’t it? Kind of… taboo for both worlds.” He meant to be light about it, but there was a slight edge to his confession. “Anyway, yes. Yes she did.”
Kizzy would for sure give her hell for luring her lover into a conversation, but she shouldn’t be so fun to mess with. Her temper was something to behold. “Taboo...” she laughs at that oversimplification. Her laughter is like the tinkling of bells, small and airy like her.
“Well, you don’t have to. Lay low that is,” she stages whispers at him next. “I won’t tell anyone.” She gestures for him to follow her towards the back of the shoppe where she’d recently put on a kettle.
