“Listen this sounds like quite the interesting story But I’ve really got to go.. there is somthing over there that needs my attention” Pyper said trying with a convincing smile, walking away she ended up dropping something from her bag but didn’t notice and continued to walk away from the person she was previously with. 

Mimi had just gotten a drink from the bar when the woman next to her seemed to be running away from her companion. She wasn’t going to do anything until she noticed the woman’s phone drop on the ground. Picking it up quickly, so the other person couldn’t get to it, she paused for a moment. “Wait, miss!” Moving forward, she followed after the brunette, pushing her way through the crowd.

“It’s okay. Mistakes happen,” He said with a small smile. adjusting so that he was seated comfortably again. “Well welcome to the place. It’s awesome here.” he promised the girl. “I’m Erik. Do you need help finding anything? Or just wanting to relax?” He questioned, trying to be friendly. 

Nodding lightly, she felt the flush in her cheeks subside slightly. It was enough to at least help her feel normal. “Well, as long as someone things it’s awesome. I mean, I don’t have anything I’m worrying about yet.” She had no idea where she had to go, and really, she didn’t care yet. It was relaxing enough to not be at home. “I was just thinking of relaxing first. I still have to find my room, but I mostly just wanted to relax.”

Matt laughed. “I’d have been fine, trust me.” he chuckled, sitting up a little to adjust how he was sitting. “It’s better than most five star hotels, I think. But to each their own, I’ve heard a few people don’t like it.”

It seemed odd that people would not like it, when they had willingly come to the island, but it was none of her business. She didn’t need to try and fix people. “It’s better than any hotels I’ve stayed in. That’s not saying much, but it’s certainly saying something.”

“I’d say that they feel pretty good for chairs.” He grinned over at her and crossed his arms over his chest. “I actually just got here a little while ago, but I can’t complain any yet. It’s a really nice villa.”

She bounced slightly in the chair. “Yeah, not too hard, but not too soft. Pretty much the perfect consistency.” Biting the inside of her lip, she nodded slightly. “Well that’s good. At least we don’t have anything bad to go off of. Nice is good.”

“It’s fine, I promise!.” He patted the chair beside him. “Only a little, but it’s not a big deal. You’re free to sit here.”

She paused a moment before sitting on the edge of the chair next to him. “Thanks. I mean, I kid of just wanted to make sure they felt as good as they looked. Have you been here long? Is this place as good as it seems?”

Matt gave a light laugh. “Oh, it’s fine. I’m not as fragile as I look. Although probably pretty close.” he admitted, shrugging. “Nice to meet you, Mimi. Welcome to the Island.”

“I didn’t mean to make it seem like you were fragile. I just didn’t want to have to hit someone in the head and not apologized for it.” She frantically brushed some hair out of her face. “Thanks. I mean, this has pretty much been all I’ve seen so far, but I think it’s pretty nice.”

“You can’t? Bummer,” he muttered, clicking his tongue in disappointment as he leaned back into the couch. “Just… don’t get it in my eyes, obviously. I’m trusting you here, don’t make me regret it.”

“I know. It’s so terrible I can’t just follow you around all day.” Her voice dripped with sarcasm. Walking over, she grabbed an unopened small tissue package and put her bag down. “Promise. No eyes or ingestion.”

“Fun,” Angelo replied, though with a sarcastic tone. “Nah? I get it, I’m not a fan myself. Being out of control of my actions? I’ll pass. This is the kinda shit that happens,” he said, gesturing to his face. “You’re right. Are you offering for the job? I’ll need you to apply first, obviously I have a list of people lined up.” He watched her with a raised brow. “I guess that gives you a few bonus points, then.”

“For some.” It was rare she found someone who didn’t like drinking. Or at the very least drinking to excess. So many people thought it was a form of freedom to no longer remember anything that happened the night before. “I mean, I will eventually have other things to do. I can’t spend all my time searching to see if you’re asleep. But if I happen to be around, I’ll scare off the drunks.” She pulled the unscented hand sanitizer out of her bag.

“You were homeschooled?” Angelo crinkled his nose at the thought alone. His parents were well off, but they still sent him off to school every day. He couldn’t imagine what his life would be like if they hadn’t… maybe there wouldn’t be so many attachments, he considered, which would certainly be in his favor now. “That’s why I try to avoid them at all cost… hand sanitizer, huh? You’ll have to help me out, but sure. I’d appreciate that.”

“Incredibly over protective parents.” Not to mention a few other things. Her back tingled slightly at a few memories. This was her way of getting out. A place she could be safe. “I don’t even drink. Next time you fall asleep in public you should have a designated watcher. Make sure the permanent marker faeries don’t get you.” She reached into her bag and started rummaging for her hand sanitizer. “Yeah, I can help out.”

Footsteps brought the DJ from his email reading and he looked up, giving a laugh. “It’s alright. The furniture is quite plush. It almost hides people.” he assured. “I’m Matthew. ”

Her cheeks were flushed from embarrassment as he made an excuse about the furniture being plush. “Or I should pay more attention. Oh, I’m Mimi, well Miranda. But most people just call me Mimi.” She held her hand out to him.

Erik tried not to shout as someone practically dove into his lap. He stared, wide eyed and tense, looking over at the woman. “It’s okay. Just a little unexpected.” He tried to laugh it off, looking over at the woman. “I don’t think we’ve met before. I’m Erik,” the baby introduced himself, smiling at the stranger. 

She wished she could melt away and not be noticed, but unfortunately, that was not possible. “I honestly didn’t expect anyone there. I’m so sorry.” Putting her bag on the ground, she sat down on the arm of a different chair. “Mimi. I literally just walked in the door, so we have not met before.”

“Not even on paper? Alright, i definitely don’t believe that,” Angelo told her, squinting his eyes in suspicion though the corner of his lips tugged up into a smirk. “… Ugh, you’re right,” he muttered, pulling a face in distaste before continuing to rub his face. “Can’t a man rest in peace?”

“You obviously were not homeschooled. Or you had parents that were way more relaxed than mine.” She playfully shook her head as he kept rubbing at his face. “Again, drunks don’t care about letting people rest, let alone in peace. I’ve got hand sanitizer if you want to at least get rid if the few prominent dicks.”

Scott looked over and shook his head. “Not at all.” he assured. “The pool is big enough with no problem.” he replied, giving her a smile and a polite tilt of his head. “Are you new around here, Miss?”

Sitting down on the edge of the pool, she tossed her towel away from the pool. “Well, I’m glad. I know some people use pools as kind of just a place to get away.” She let her legs dangle into the pool to get acclimated to the water. “Yes, I just got here. Like, just got here. I’m Mimi.”

Scott walked out to the pool, no cowboy hat and humming a song to himself as he moved to dive in, casually swimming to a corner and leaning against it to look around.

It was only after wandering the halls of the hotel that she finally found the pool. What she hadn’t expected was to find anyone else there. As soon as she saw someone, she then realized that was a foolish thing to assume. “Uh, I hope I’m not intruding?”

Angelo narrowed his gaze suspiciously at her. “I don’t know if I believe you,” he muttered, rubbing his cheek in hopes it would wipe some of it off. “Nothing better than some good ‘ol immaturity,” he muttered, scoffing as he still tried to wake himself up.

She raised both her hands in front of her in a show of innocence. “I’ve never once drawn a dick on paper, let alone someone’s face. Cross my heart.” The image on his cheek seemed to smudge as he wiped at his face. “To be fair, there’s a bar here too. You can’t expect anything better from people who are drunk.”

Mimi stopped dead in her tracks as the person on the couch started moving around. “I promise it wasn’t me.” She hesitated for a moment. “But I do see at least one dick on there.”
