[Text to the right of the title]: Born March 9th, 1993. The lyricist, composer and producer of BTS, as well as releasing a mixtape under the name of Agust D. His stoic-ness, sharp tongue, and reluctance are part of his charm.
[Main text]: “You can’t grasp the point of BTS’ music simply by listening to it. It becomes complete and powerful when combined with the performance.”
Suga, who says such things, has been credited for contributing to the creation of songs like “I NEED U” and their new song “Blood, Sweat, Tears,” which the members said were “the songs that changed our destiny.”
“The HIP-HOP we like to strive for has always emphasized Love and Peace. I was in the world of hip-hop from a young age, and I like songs that are about love and peace to this day. My base for music is also rooted there. I am not a type of person who creates maniac (strongly rooted to one genre) songs. I hope that I can make songs that many people can relate to and receive strength from.”
He also recognized himself as a “music nerd.” He thinks of music 24/7. The times where he feels most excited during his free time is when he is “looking for the most recent composing gadgets.”
“I always look forward to the event where Music Gadgets sold around the world are displayed each year, especially to check of the most recent and trendy gadgets. I also go to see some composers that I am close to and feel blessed when I can use their gadgets.”
Suga usually gives up a cool vibe. However, at award ceremonies he cries more than anyone. When we brought that up, he toughened up and said “It’s because I have dry eyes. In the winter, the wind is strong so I end up crying.”
But then he became serious, saying, “I wonder why. The tears come without me realizing. When I rematch the ceremonies later, it looks like I’m sad even though I was crying tears of joy. I was shocked and wondered why do I cry like this (lol).”
To Suga, who is surprisingly emotional, what does Japan mean?
“In Japan, we started in small venues and slowly stepped up to this point. When I remember that path, it really hits my heart. When on stage, from the moment where my heart becomes one with the fans to when we go off stage, I am happy. Each time I come to Japan, it is a meaningful place to be.”
