To the Victor goes the Spoils || Mina/Naomi
Tea. Perhaps he only thing she knew how to make for herself, the remains of their shared indian food was already stashed in the fridge and the sound of a shower could be heard from the floor above. The lights were low on this level though, barely more then the amber glow of a couple of candles and the smell of her tea wafted into the air.
It was strange having Mina back, itâd been several years, and she couldnât personally remember the last time Mina had slept in her home. The fiery red head was recovering well though, thanks toâŚwellâŚplenty of indian food and rest. Had Naomi known she was in such danger sooner thoughâŚ?
GodsâŚshe couldnât lose her brother and Mina so close together.
She shook those thoughts from her head though and brought the cup up lightly to blow at the steam and made her way back to the couch to settle in the plush cushions and watch the low, idle flames of the fireplace.Â
The water was, perhaps, the best thing sheâd felt in years. After the long ordeals of the past few months, a simple moment to breathe, to enjoy having a stomach full and a back starting to heal, she could move again, and enjoy the company of the world once more. Mina could feel her strength starting to return, in part by the calming, constant presence of the woman down stairs, waiting for her.Â
It wasnât hard to know exactly what she wanted to do, once the water was turned off. She pulled her hair into a towel for a moment, squeezing the moisture out before the ends simply started to smoke and curl themselves, steam rising from her head as she settled in front of the mirror. A brief look, a check of her cheeks and neck with a contented purr, and she was off again. The towel for her hair was the only thing between her skin and the air of the house as she started down the stairs again, the length of it wrapped loosely around her breasts, her eyes falling first on Naomi.Â
"Well, if that isnât a serious faceâŚ"Â
"It seems Iâm plagued with the condition of such a face." She mused, looking to her with a soft smile and a slowly raised brow. "Youâre looking much better, I think the showerâs done you well. Would you like some tea? Itâs the only thing I can really make, as you well know. Though, as I recall you are quite a  bit better at it." She smiled, offering the cup over to her.
Mina wasâŚa fine distraction, but perhaps too much of a distraction..? Naomiâs eyes lingered for a moment before she got up again to head into the kitchen to start another mug for more tea. She couldnât help but wonder if it wouldnât have been a better plan for Mina to stay with War for this time. Elementalists understood each other on a moreâŚelemental level after all.Â
Mina sighed and settled into Naomi's place on the couch comfortably. "I'll take the tea, but just bring it with the bag still in, I'll take care of the rest." She agreed with a chuckle, curling her legs gently.Â
"Water can do wonders. So can food, and sleep. I'm sure I'll regret eating so much tomorrow, but who knows - maybe not..." It was easy conversation, even as her eyes were tracking Naomi's movements, searching for signs, waiting for a proper moment...
"Being serious was never my strong suit. Maybe, though...its warranted this time..." Nearly dying had been sobering, more than even she had the desire to admit just yet.Â
"...what's become of Jamie now?"Â
