The worst thing is that they aren’t even nightmares they’re memories.
遠くなってくキミの影 走って追いかける
( Is the shadow of you the one who is growing distant? I will run and chase after you. )
届くように 声の限りに鳴くよ
( So as to get through, I cry within in the limits of my voice. )
どうか振り向いて欲しい
( Please, I want you to turn around )
I wish it was like before.
six word story // vasquezrachel (via just-six)
He handed the deck to him to look at.
“Don’t worry. I can teach you a bunch. Even the Solitaire sort.”
❝ Is that so? ❞
❝ Then, I suppose we can take a break—show me your stuff. ❞
──❛ Fine, fine. You always have all my attention anyway. ❜
❛ So what is it you want ? ❜
❝ If it's alright, I want to see you practice. ❞

Send me a ▽ and I will generate a number for what my muse will say to yours.
With her camera grasped around her delicate digits, she felt photography wasn’t the most difficult task in the world nor was it impossible to grasp. In fact, previous incidents had only made her even more wary of the words others utter– And, even if they don’t say it explicitly, the thought surely must cross their mind when it comes to why she invests herself in something like that. She turned around in full swing, letting her eyes look straight ahead as she proceeded to speak.
“Before you say anything– I know you don’t think I’m trying. You’re probably assuming that my talent is a simple one, right? I wouldn’t be surprised.. That’s common. Still.. Respecting other people’s interests is only common courtesy.”
❝ Of course not, Mahiru. Your photography has its own quirks. That is, skills that only you can use. I'm sure you try your hardest. ❞
Now, the question arose as to why she thought that he would ever think such a thought—sure, it wasn't as if she was an expert at reading other's or even his thoughts—but what he truly believed was that her photography expertise wasn't something so carelessly performed. It might've been common for her to be judged for the type of talent she wore on her shoulders; perhaps it was the reason why she was particularly doubtful of Aellan's opinion.
❝ Art is something to be taken seriously— —and photography is definitely art. ❞
「 ¥ 」;; — “Aw,” came his teasing reply, gaze locked upon the pocketwatch now in his grasp. It was authentic silver with gems that appealed to the eye. As much as he wanted it, he hands it back with a smile playing upon his lips.
“Here you go. Take care of stuff like this. It would be a shame if someone stole it.”
❝ Thank you. ❞
His artifact returned, what hit him for a split second was how oddly the other was acting—not the fact that he returned it so graciously, but rather his attitude previously. It sounded like he was actually about to take it; perhaps that was simply the sad behaviour that had befallen people these days.
❝ Is it normal these days for personal belongings to get stolen? I haven't seen that happen quite often, actually—or perhaps, the art of thievery has developed recently—regardless, I thank you.❞
He brought a deck of cards out from one of his numerous pockets.
“Maybe we can play a game in the meantime.”
❝ Those are... cards? ❞
❝ Even if I accept, I don't know any games. ❞
❝Aellan West? I see— it’s nice to meet you as well.❞
Contrary to her words, others speculate her to be delivering a cold appearance. It was simply how the enigmatic woman was whenever approaching others. That includes having companions who are forced to compromise with. Trust is difficult for her to carry towards anyone, especially when encountering people who are unknown. Yet he never stated anything negative regarding her behavior in any manner. Well that was refreshing to understand and didn’t require her to explain. Lilac hues stared intently, making certain not to display any expressions to spread across her face. He isn’t allowed to see anything of the sort. Those words that followed, though … how unusual for him to make that claim. Was he capable of reading someone, be it mind or nature? This served to offer some difficulties for her— having someone she barely met to pick his nose into her business is something she wished to avoid.
❝… I look like I have a strong resolve? Well, you aren’t wrong for speculating that. My resolve has been settled, or at least, I believe for that to be the case. Though why point this out, Aellan-san?❞
❝ Ah, sorry—I guess that's just me thinking out loud. ❞
What he hoped for was that it wasn't an insensitive comment—he wasn't one to pry too closely into someone's personal affairs, and perhaps he accidentally just did so. His arms steadily raised in defense of any sharp words that would come his way, though he was doubtful that this girl was the type to snap back. She was so calm, so collected to the point that even he would feel immature around her—perhaps that was simply who she was. Even her aura alone was still and serene, and it amazed Aellan to meet a person with this sort of demeanour.
❝ I just thought it was interesting, that's all. It's probably one of the first things I noticed about you. ❞
「 ¥ 」;; — “Hey. You don’t need this, do you?” His gloved fingers pick up something that fell to the ground – something awful shiny. “If not, hey. Finder’s keepers.”
❝ Ah, that... ❞
With a gentle clatter, a silver pocketwatch intricatally engraved with small gems attached fell to the floor. He was about to pick it up, but the thief came from—where exactly did he come from?
❝ That would be mine. May I have it back? ❞
I'll get a verse page up ASAP.
❝— Perhaps.❞
None of his words were deciphered of any offense in them. There wasn’t anything that doubted his words though it was a first for her to offer an in-depth explanation. Especially when touching a sensitive topic that pertains to her relatives. Though both have departed from this world, it didn’t bother her ( now at least ) to involve them within her explanations. Much of her ‘thank you’ was added until the end since she wasn’t the type to accept compliments as a priority. If they were given, then she’ll make a last note in returning proper mannerisms. At least he didn’t find her explanation to be a bore or something improper. Others would usually stray away from explanations that come from the mouth of a detective. Though it’s questionable as to why his intent focus was on her lavender locks. Were they … that fascinating to gaze upon? But she made no rejection to it.
❝… Kyouko Kirigiri. And what would your name be?❞
❝ Aellan West. It's nice to meet you, Kyouko. ❞
Oddly enough, every inch of this young femme spoke of a professional air about her—it was from her posture to her strong composure; especially that frigid gaze of hers. It was not exactly friendly nor cold, but more observant and inspecting, as if her mind was always on edge about her surroundings and as to what she spoke of. In short, a girl of grand intelligence. Never had he met someone of such an age to bear that kind of strength, as if to display the past she must've kept behind her as the paradigm of her history; for someone so youthful, what sorts of experiences lay behind the robust glare of dull violets?
❝ I was just wondering, Kyouko—you seem different. You look like you have a strong resolve... that's all. ❞
