A couple more silly things I imagined in the Sonic AU
Following up on the last post: "Hey Icchan, one of your quills looks all wonky..." Cue Saki pulling out the bent quill and accidentally setting Ichika off.
Since you mentioned that Sonic is a VBS fan, I imagine him taking a bunch of his friends to RAD BLAST, and the end of the performance, Sonic looking at Kohammy with his closest approximation of TBH eyes with most of them lined up to have VBS sign various possessions of theirs.
Amy, Cream and Tails are MMJ fans and Cream additionally loves WxS. Amy secretly enjoys N25's music (she's a chronic Cute na Kanojo repeat listener) while Shadow is more open about liking the group.
Mafuyu letting her ears out of the scrunchie after a long day and just quietly spinning them around (a la Cream) with her eyes closed. The first time she did this after moving in with Kanade, Kanade was very confused as to what she was doing. When she asked about it, Mafuyu answered "I don't know, but it's relaxing."

Tsukasa Tenma
The Favorite One. Ive wanted to draw a reference for his mobian design for nearly a year now, but at the time I first thought about it i hadn't figured out what my style for drawinf him was yet. Though now that I HAVE...
Tsukasa is a dog. He just gave dog vibes to me. When/If I get around to doing one of these for Leo/Need, Saki will also be a dog, so some of what I say here may be repeated there.
Tsukasa (and Saki) are sorta mix-breeds. Mostly golden retriever. When initially thinking about mobian Tsukasa, I considered making him a chihuahua, but ultimately changed my mind.
In universe, since Wonderlands x Showtime would go down the path of becoming a sort of travelling show thing, he would definetly become more of a leader in general than just for shows. Wondershow would undeniably have encounters with the Eggman empire during their travels, so Tsukasa may have to take on the role (heh) of a tactician if they had to fight. He may not seem as capable of fighting, but make no mistake, Tsukasa is far stronger than he appears.
The only design change i really made to his uniform is a minor edit to his boots to not drive myself insane when drawing them.

Rui Kamishiro
The other favorite one. Coming up with Rui's species was the easiest thing ever. Just look at him and tell me he wouldn't be a cat. (Ignore the dog rui 2 star ignore it)
It wasnt difficult at all to translate his design to a mobian one. Though it was difficult to draw his uniform. Its very detailed and I WANTED to simplify it more, but doing so made it feel empty .. this problem wasnt present with his boots thankfully. Im quite grateful that Rui and Tsukasas boots were easier to translate into this.
Rui was given gloves because he looked weird without them in his uniform, but when figuring out how to draw those gloves, I wanted to make them functional for controlling his drones and robots n stuff. This is why he was also given what looks to be two watches. My original idea was to draw something similar to what Robotnik had in Sonic 1 (movie), but i was having trouble drawing it.
Ruis design is when I had thoughts about fur patterns. I didnt want him to be solid purple with the two cyan streaks and tail tip, so he has some off-white fur up to his elbows, white toes (not that those wpuld ever really be seen), and probably a white belly or chest pattern?? Again, not like i plan to draw that right now. The off-white fur choice was inspired by Shuttleman's dragon rui design (same one used in bake no kasa... I like that design a lot)
Rui probably only wears gloves with his uniform, but likely keeps the watch things under his sleeves in his casual outfit.
Now as for those watches, he can use them both to control his drones and robots in general. They could also double as a communicator if I end up designing some of those for the rest of wondershow. He has two because he's ambidextrous and I dont want to worry about which glove had a watch and which didnt. In the situation of having to deal with eggman... Rui would rather not. Partially because he isn't too interested in being in a fight, partially because hes... afraid of the doctor? Unsettled? Though wether hed rather it or not, he has drones on standby just for situations like these.

Emu Otori
Emu was difficult to finalize a decision for when it comes to what she'd be. It was between bunny and monkey. Bunny because it would be cute, monkey because I lowkey wanted to try and learn to design a monkey character (especially since the last time I had done this was an old mobian shantae design back in '21(?)
Anyway, bunny is what I ended uo going with, and I knew i wanted her to have her ears sticking WAY up (this decision was also made to contrast Mafuyu, who is also a rabbit/bunny (same thing right???)
Emus costume was by far yhe most difficult to simplify. Anything I thought to do would end up ruining her vibe and I couldn't do that! In the end I ended up just removing one purple bow thing from her dress, but only because I had forgotten it. I also almost forgot her little hair bow thing.
Guess I'll continue the trend i had with tsukasa and rui regarding how I imagine the character in a fight.. Emu wpuld absolutely be able to hold on her own. If given the chance, she will be like Amy and swing a giant hammer around. She'll view the whole thing as a big elaborate show as a way yo ignore how scary it is that theyre fighting Eggman. In universe, I think she holds something against him. Like maybe he tried to do something to Pheonix Wonderland. Maybe he almost got her brother's to sign it away and be turned into Eggman land? Maybe its already happened and thats why Wondershow became a travelling performance group? Idk. I think she'd be way more upset if it was the later.

Nene Kusanagi + Omo-Nene
Starting with Nene, BY FAR THE TOUGHEST ONE TO FIGURE OUT A SPECIES FOR. At first I thought Fox dor some reason, then over time canary, songbird, and squirrel came to mind. Canary because events have referred to her as the canary, songbird because she sings, and squirrel... honestly because I had an idea for the tail stripe. Obviously I ended up going with squirrel... but tbh its mostly because I struggle wirh drawing beaks on sonic characters. L me. Lol.
Designing mobian nene also gave me an opportunity to figure out how I color her more, so yay. There isn't really much that changes between her in-game design and this design, but i will say i did stream the process of coloring her, anf the pink cuffs are all thanks to my chats influence (thank you driftingzim chat ily/non parasocial).
Now before we move onto in-universe stuff, Omo-Nene! Omonene. NeneOmo? Dude idk one of those works lol. Pretty much this au's NeneRobo! I knew long before I even drew her that I wanted to make her an omochao. Just now far less annoying /j. Plus the imagery of that scene where nene auditions for wxs through nenerobo but with omonene instead is very adorable to think about. I think after nene starts going on-stage as herself, omonene starts acting more like a "normal" Chao, but mostly sticking to Nene's command (even though rui built her)
In battle if it came to it, nene is the least physically likely to get involved. Instead, she will usually opt to sick omo-nene on a foe (think cream and cheese but if cheese was built by rui). If nene was left no other choice, I think she should be able to send out a Soundwave based attack. Like a scree. Poor tsukasa and rui's ears.
Though. In the case of Eggman, it probably wouldn't be her first time having to go against him; even if that first time (thankfully) didn't last very long (i love implying lore ideas I had for this au)
