Watching Zach and Frankie YouNow with friends that arenât Fans
While everyone hashes, rehashes and rehashes again Zachâs broadcast and the vacation heard round the world Iâm gonna change topics. I made my peace. Iâm bored with myself and that discussion. So I figured for those interested in something else Iâd share this fun story.
So I went to a slumber party this weekend. It seems that Frankieâs zankie overload reached outside of the fandom bubble. I think we live in this bubble fans, haters and anyone that has some connect to last season. We see things through the lens of the last year but there are ppl that have NO CLUE that are still aware because they are that notable. They pour over the fandom walls into the World around them.
I have two girlfriends that are mildy aware of the whole zankie thing. One is a HUGE BB fan and loves Zach and HATES FrankieâŠI mean I knew she disliked him. We have had actual arguments about it LOL! I just didnât know how deep it ran LOL she said he ruined GMA for her. I was like damn girlâŠis it really like that? Also she was convinced that zankie was fake and never believed it. She did a little bit more as time has gone by but she has always been a skeptic. Anyway I only point that out to highlight how shocked I was by her reaction to the vid. My other friend has never watched BB. She is interested because some how zankie stuff keeps  winding up on her TL LOL! So when they blow up like last week you have to understand that fans donât just see, EVERYONE sees it.
So they asked to see the vids from last week. At first my BB fan friend said she couldnât sit through the whole YN and just wanted to see the JB Where Are You Now vid. (I want to note I wanted impartial view points so I didnât prep them. I donât talk about zankie stuff in my everyday life LOL THEY brought it up. itâs wildâŠ) We watched it and half way through my BB fan friend said âSHIT!â I asked her what was wrong. She said she didnât want to say it. Then she leaned back and said âSHIT!â again LMAO! I said now you have to say. She said âI hate myself but Iâm sitting here watching this thinking just kiss already.â LMAO! She said their chemistry was insane.
After that she insisted we watch the whole YN convinced sheâd see through the charade. A few minutes in she admitted that it was only making things worse and that she was actually enjoying them together. My favorite part was when Frankie was explaining how they never see each other. She yelled âHOLD UP! PAUSE THE VID!â I was like what. She said âHeâs lying. Why is he lying? It is clear they are close. They are like besties. There is NO WAY they donât hang out.â LOL! I felt so vindicated in that moment. haha! After the vid I asked their honest opinion. She and my friend basically said they have insane chemistry and in their minds seem like more than friends. They also said they would watch anything they were on cause they loved that YN. My friend who HATES Frankie said if it was him and Zach sheâd watch. You donât understand this blew my mind. I never expected that from her.
After this I told them about the snaps LOL! Their first reaction was to laugh hysterically. I was shocked. They asked well did he show her?âŠI said noâŠthey said was there anything scandalousâŠI said noâŠand they laughed again and said did anyone buy that shit? LMAO! I said yesâŠ.they shook their heads in disbelief. They have zero connect to any of this. They are truly observers. Watching them watch Zach and Frankie interact was fascinating to say the least. My non BB fan friend said âItâs no wonder they have such a strong fan base. They are pure electricity. You donât want to stop watching them. I can see how itâs addictingâÂ
I had such a fun time with my girls and I love that they were so interested and willing to watch in fact asking to watch. I felt less like weirdo LOL and it felt good to get perspective outside the fandom bubble. I encourage everyone to just stretch your legs. Get up and walkâŠtalk about something else. Talk to ppl outside the fandom. Gain a new perspective maybe even take a break. This whole thing escalated way too quickly and has gotten so out of hand. Being a fan shouldnât be this stressful. Your buttons can only be pushed if you expose them.
