Thankfully, these professional inter-regional conferences were a great excuse for Augustine to wax on about his discoveries with other like-minded individuals. Luckily, most everyone seemed quite eager to meet the famed Kalosian professor. By now the trainers he helped to prepare for their League journeys were becoming more and more impatient with his in-depth explanations of their Pokedexes and the evolutionary chains of their starting partners. Not so with these other scientists.

However, he himself was never one to pass up a learning opportunity. So when one of the scheduled speakers happened to be a known specialist of Pokemon with trans-dimensional origins (Something… beasts, he had heard?), he found himself more than eager to make her aquantince. He was further relieved upon discovering that she was also a Kalosian native.

Sliding up to the woman as she perused the snack table, he offered his hand to her with a winning smile.

“Bonsoir, ma dame. Cecelia Steele, I presume? I’m Augustine Sycamore.”

TO SAY HER HEART was racing would have been something of an understatement.

Being one of the smaller names in the field, meeting a Pokemon Professor was a huge deal. And to think that he’d already known her by name was something else indeed! She began to wonder if word of her discoveries had been getting around.

A little flustered, she held her hand out to meet his in a shake, trying hard (and failing) to look unfazed. Goodness, it was just so awesome to meet someone of such a high standing in the science community!

i love that every pokémon is someone’s favourite pokémon. it doesn’t matter how much you dislike a pokémon or how forgettable you you think a design is, out there is someone who thinks it’s their baby. my coworker who only discovered pokémon through pokémon go absolutely loves tangela and has a small army of fully powered up ones. at an expo once i saw a woman at a booth desperately trying to find an onix plushie because it was her daughter’s absolute favourite. i talked with someone recently who announced sudowoodo as their tippy top favourite. every single one is loved by someone and idk, i think that’s gotdang heartwarming
