A tiny package appears at the door. On its underside, in neat cursive writing, a small note reads “Happy birthday! I am sure you can find a use for these—I picked them up in Hoenn before I moved. -Cecillia.” Inside the box were two flashdrives, shaped like the Pokémon Plusle and Minun respectively.
When he next properly emerges from his trial’s room (no matter what the day may be to him personally, he still has to be prepared for challengers--especially because he gave no prior notice toward potentially being gone), the gift gets handed to him by a receptionist--who sports a rather puzzled expression.
Sophocles questions the poor man, raising an eyebrow at the mention of a ‘giant woman’, only for his expression to shift toward being something much more amused than anything else.
That would be Cecillia. He should really take a moment and explain her to the poor people who weren’t already aware of her.
He reassures the adult that yes he knows the gift giver and no they mean no harm before taking the package back and sitting down to unwrap it.
Some people might be annoyed with receiving variations on what was effectively the same thing on their birthday, but Sophocles was not one of them.
He’s thrilled, actually, and not solely because one of them was shaped to look like a Pokemon of his (though that certainly doesn’t hurt, of course!), and he’ll be sure to show them to the Minun when he gets the chance.
