Starting my anxiety meds today and one of the side effects in under 25s is increased suicidal thoughts. As if I don't spend a lot of my time not wanting to exist. The other side effects look like SO MUCH FUN too. And apparently I could get much worse in the next two weeks before they start to work. Joy. I guess we'll see what happens.

Currently struggling with lots of things. Feeling like I'm not enough (of anything), that I don't deserve good things, that although I feel like I'm being treated not well by certain people in my life I can't complain because I'm sure I did something to cause it and anyway who do I think I am that people should be nice to me. It's not been a fun time because of family reasons and living arrangement stuff and yeah. I am also constantly tired and ill (I've been v sick twice in the past 3 weeks) and that's not helping. I should see a doctor but I also don't want to make a fuss which I'm aware is stupid. Bah.
Single and ready to get nervous around anyone I find attractive.

Never mind all these beautiful historical dramas I want a modern day sit com about the Romantic poets like
Byron, Shelley, and Keats are roommates.
Byron is constantly a dick and Keats is constantly like “fight me” and Shelley is constantly exasperated.
“I swear to God, George, if you even think about fighting him-” “Well he asked me to.” “He’s also five feet tall.”
Felicia Hemans lives across the hall from them and everyone thinks she’s really sweet because she bakes a lot and dresses conservatively but she is constantly lowkey throwing shade at everyone.
Byron hates her because she’s better than him at everything.
Mary Wollstonecraft also lives in their building and owns a lot of t-shirts with feminist slogans on.
Every time she bumps into Shelley in the hallway he asks whether her daughter is coming to visit any time soon. He is much less subtle about it than he thinks he is.
Byron frequently gets into flame wars with people on the internet.
“George it’s 3am why are you still awake?” “Someone was talking shit about Pope.” “Not again.”
At this point, Keats and Shelley have a script they can run through every time they open the door to a crying person asking why Byron never called them back.
A running joke in which there is a loud noise every time someone says Shelley’s middle name correctly.
Another running joke in which Byron and his sister constantly get mistaken for a couple.

me, internally: her stuff has ALWAYS been incredible. just because her old stuff was more party and dance music and used autotune and was marketed towards teenage girls doesn’t change the fact that her lyrics have always been clever, heartwarming, and just plain fun. even if her old music wasn’t personally your cup of tea, you can’t pretend that she hasn’t always been a talented musician with a great voice – y’all talk like she didn’t release stripped-down versions of her old music with no autotune years ago, PROVING her voice is amazing. animal, cannibal and warrior had so many bops on them, so many uplifting party songs, and from the very beginning, she has been subverting and satirizing the drunken party girl image her label built up for her. and let’s not even get into the fact that she has a genius level iq, and is an all-around great person and has always been outspoken about human rights, and is an inspiration for abuse survivors everywhere, and,

How to know that your contented, happy period is over: you have three panic attacks in one day for no reason and then the next day 3 separate people make you feel worthless and pretty much try to convince you to not trust your own opinions/feelings/thoughts/emotions. Happy Monday everybody.

The soil testing equipment on Curiosity makes a buzzing noise and the pitch of the noise changes depending on what part of an experiment Curiosity is performing, this is the way Curiosity sings to itself.
So some of the finest minds currently alive decided to take incredibly expensive important scientific equipment and mess with it until they worked out how to move in just the right way to sing Happy Birthday, then someone made a cake on Curiosity’s birthday and took it into Mission control so that a room full of brilliant scientists and engineers could throw a birthday party for a non-autonomous robot 225 million kilometres away and listen to it sing the first ever song sung on Mars*, which was Happy Birthday.
This isn’t a sad story, this a happy story about the ridiculousness of humans and the way we love things. We built a little robot and called it Curiosity and flung it into the star to go and explore places we can’t get to because it’s name is in our nature and then just because we could, we taught it how to sing.
That’s not sad, that’s awesome.
*this is different from the first song ever played on mars (Reach For The Stars by Will.I.Am) which happened the year before, singing is different from playing
