Dexworld’s denizens come in many shapes and forms. Case in point are the following two individuals, Cyan Dye and Gunpowder, natives of a similar, far desert biome, but very different in likeness and personality.

You may recognize Gunpowder, historian of Innovata; zir home of 15+ years. Ze is a self-serious character who came to the mountain city in the pursuit of knowledge. Instead, ze has mostly found zirself in many hijinks. At least ze still has access to zir favorite cigars.

Cyan Dye gijinkas are a rarity in Dexworld, especially natural ones. More often than not, a gijinka of their ilk will be a fusion of a Blue Dye with a green dye catalyst (more on fusion later.)

However, our Cyan Dye—famous wandering trader and infamous con artist—is natural. Meaning, they were born as a Cyan Dye. They know this very well, and flaunt their natural talents just for kicks. They are a skilled witch who does nothing but eat hot chip and lie. I hate them

While both were born desert-dwellers, that fact primarily only affects their heritage and subsequent worldviews. Both find value in hardiness and self-sufficiency, yet depend on communities and companionship in order to fulfill their livelihoods and survive as people.

Gunpowder is definitely the more socially introverted of the two, preferring to work on zir lonesome; and Cyan Dye, too, works alone, but is the type to prefer the company of others at the end of the day. And yet, it is both’s upbringings that pushed Gunpowder to pursue a career that requires learning of zir own communities, and Cyan Dye to pursue a career that requires interaction with whoever they meet. It should come to no surprise, then, that both work in positions that require a knowledge of the function of social norms and the psyche of others.

Even after 15 years of living in a mountainous area, Gunpowder is still unused to the cold. While it wasn’t uncommon for clothing to drape and cover as much as possible as to shield from the hot sun, the layers still give zem much issue. Ze just opts to wear as much as possible, even when unnecessary.

Cyan Dye just walks into places without abandon. Its hair is so fucking huge. It’s covered lol. Cyan Dye’s fine

It should also be stated that both despise sand. Is this a feature of desert-dwellers? Definitely not, but it’s funny to remark upon.

HELLO =o] I’m Apple, researcher and entomologist! please use ey/em for me!

anyway, i asked gunpowder if i could be a part of zir research project and ze said no but i bribed zem with zir favorite food and also money! i guess i will be helping from now on =o] more under the cut!

my people, apples, are dryad humanoids with apple leaves and apple fruit sprouting from our heads and our tails. we are primarily made out of apple tree wood, however we come in lots of varieties, such as apples do! however, most of us are various forms of red apples.

my community that i came from was rather secular, yet was a farm settlement. most apples do live in farm settlements, tending to crops as farmers, as i worked before i got this job! however, there is a trend of apples moving to the city in order to spread out and gain new experiences, which has been leaving farms abandoned.

however, we do have a little bit of magic as a whole, passed down from the ancient enchanted golden apples through their angelic courts, to spread our leaves and become a part of nature like they did! our culture prides itself on growing and becoming one with nature, as we have festivals to commemorate the angel court’s birth and gift giving to us. however, i am unsure about the other types of apples, such as golden apples and maybe even the enchanted golden apples, if they exist, but i am beginning to think they do. rumor has it that they’re hidden in rare places, especially in mine shafts.

despite our differences, Apple cultures tend to be similar across biomes and terrains. we can be found everywhere, except deserts as we will wrinkle up and fail to survive. we need an ample supply of water and soil to consume for our own health, yet we don’t need to eat actual food! we can if we want, but the things that will only give us energy are water and soil. without it, we will shrivel up.

i hope on my trip with gunpowder that i might be able to find out more about the world in and of itself ! =oD i will be reporting here alongside gunpowder, whether ze likes it or not !

ENTITIES: blocks, items, mobs... what are they?

Gijinkas, also generally referred to as people or entities, are the sentient populace of one specific Minecraft world, which will be referred to colloquially as Dexworld. I know it sucks, this is why I don’t name anything ever. :3

Most gijinkas in this world can have duplicate types of gijinka exist with them. Often, their commonality corresponds with how easily they can be encountered in the game: you’ll find a lot of Oak Wood and Stone gijinkas walking around, while not too many Obsidians and Enchantment Tables are roaming about. Same, too, are Chickens common, yet Giants are only spoken of in myth...?

The existence of gijinkas does not affect their actual occurrences in Dexworld, unless there is only one that can be encountered—in those cases, gijinkas take precedence. There are Chicken gijinkas, as well as actual chickens, but there is only one Ender Dragon gijinka, and no Ender Dragon mob.

The realms in Dexworld—Overworld, Nether, and The End—all exist. Transport and travel between them is uncommon but not surprising. Many ancient temples have instead become communication and trading hubs between worlds, some hubs even being transformed into civilizations of their own.

However, to broadly sort all gijinka into “Overworlder” or “Netherian” would be ignorant—at best—of the innumerable cultures between even one singular biome. To assume all types of a specific gijinka congregate in towns of Sticks or what have you is also erroneous: gijinka generally like to mingle, because they are basically humans who look weird and they wanna kiss kiss fall in love

Certain gijinka are seen as lords of their domain, either from status, power, or both. Most of these gijinka live unassuming lives, emerging to fulfill ascribed roles only to fulfill their duty. Others take advantage of their position and flaunt it around like some sort of fucking asshole I hate you I fucking hate you, shut the FUCK up Crafting Table you’re so fucking annoying I hate you
