guys. i genuinely think ivan could've beat luka and won alien stage if he hadn't died.

because think about it, he's the smartest and most perceptive out of the entire main cast, not to downplay the others but i've been doing protest literature in class recently and we talk about the marxist concept of false consciousness and i think everyone apart from ivan is suffering from it.

remember how he was the only one to try and actively run away from anakt garden??? and till just? goes back? back to his oppressors???? if that isn't false consciousness vs actual enlightenment i don't know what is.

the only thing that stops ivan from escaping anakt garden is till, ivan's love for till. and that's the thing that kills him too. because he wanted till to live. he sacrifices himself for till. its so circular and its literally tearing me apart the circular structure alien stage is literal art it literally needs to be canonised
