It's almost time for the Feast of the Winter Star! 🌟
I haven't been able to get much done in the doll house because I've been working a lot. I probably won't get around to any bigger projects until 2020 because I'm moving at the end of December! Once I move I'll have room for more projects though, so hopefully 2020 will be a big year for me!
Trying out some new eye designs for Seb. I can’t decide if I like the first option, which is more like the original ones I made for him, or the second more angled eyes.
I spent my first day of vacation working on fixing up the rooms in the dollhouse.
The only change I made to the main floor was making a new ceiling panel, which you can’t see in these photos. The original panel warped pretty bad, and it’s needed to hold up the middle and side walls, so it was more of a structural change.
And the top floor is now finished! I had the walls and floors done already, it just needed a ceiling panel to hold it all together and a few adjustments to get the fit right in the space.
The top floor even has a working door between the bedroom and the bathroom!
The rooms are still a little empty feeling, even with the furniture and decorations in them, but its still a work in progress. I intend to add windows and more pictures to the walls. I’m also debating building a staircase, but I’m not sure on that one yet.
Tried making some necklaces from little bits of jewelry. It's hard to find things small enough for these dolls. #1 is my favorite.
I bought a handheld airbrush today, I think I should be able to use it to recolor Lynna’s hair properly. I’ve never used an airbrush before though, so I hope it goes well. I’m on vacation from work all next week so I’m hoping to work on a lot of doll stuff. Hopefully I can get the walls for the second floor finished and paint the fireplace. I’d also like to remake Seb’s sweater and Lynna’s overalls too.
Seb likes frogs, so when I found this little froggie at Michael's I had to get it. I think rather than keeping it as a pet he and Lynna probably are keeping it over the winter to let it go once the spring comes.
At the time I made this I was still too nervous to try out resin so it's made with tacky glue instead.
We had some dried moss from another project in the house and the stick I just took from outside. This is something I'd like to remake now that I have some resin.
I made a little lute for Lynna to play.
Seb lying in the background feels kind of ominous.
I thought I could boil the stick long enough to bend it but it was way too ambitious for me. I also thought I could carve the back of the lute from wood but in the end I made it from sculpey and baked the whole thing.
I really liked this pink cape and it didn't look too big so I bought it to see how the sizes would compare. The cape was so big I had to tie it at the back and Seb doesn't look any better in that grey dress.
Yea just a few sizes too big for Lynna.
I took it in at the back where it would be the least visible and now it fits her just the way I wanted.
I had enough material left over to make a little headband to go with it. It looks pretty cute paired with a Kelly outfit I found at a thrift store. She looks ready for adventure!
The dollar store has cute stuff sometimes.
Bought a fishing set back in May. Some of the little woodzeez stuff is cute but it's not the same quality as Calico Critters.
I've been working on making a fireplace for the dollhouse so I can decorate it for the holidays. This one is supposed to be the test one so I can figure out what works best, but so far it's turning out alright.
Tried to make a tiny pack of cigarettes for Seb today.
Although, it's a bad habit Seb and you really should stop.

I've been working on the dolls' house for quite while now and it's gone through a few changes in that time. Originally it was just a shelf in my book case but I knew I wanted something a little more than that.
So I spent around 45 minutes staring at the scrapbook paper aisles in JoAnns before deciding on these. This was the first draft of the walls and floor and you can see the foam board warped from the glue.
Eventually I made a trip to Michael's and switched over to chipboard which dried a lot better. I also took an idea from some of those mini room kits and made a sort of 'baseboard' that acts as a guide that helps hold the walls in place.
Toss in some furniture and it looks a little more like a house than a shelf on a bookcase.
This is what it looked like before I took it down to fix the ceiling and get measurements for a new floor and wall combo for a second shelf. When that's finished they'll have a bedroom and bathroom upstairs and a living room and kitchen downstairs.

Sebastian is a character from Stardew Valley. I’ve played way too many hours of that game and I immediately fell in love with his awkward and quiet personality. Maybe because he reminds me of my real fiance? Maybe because I’m a sucker for those types of characters. Who knows? (I know)

Sebastian only has a few people in the valley that he trusts, and he quickly developed a soft spot for the new farmer when she showed up. After fighting with himself (and his best friends Sam and Abby) he finally admits that his feelings towards Lynna are more than just friendly.

I was inspired to make Obitsuroid Sebastian after seeing @listiel make theirs. What seems like ages ago I asked if they would mind if I also made one and posted pictures of it and here we are, I finally got around to posting him!

Sebastian is an Obitsuroid. This is to say that he is a Nendoroid head on an Obitsu 11 body with some modifications to make this work. He's gone through a few changes and is currently waiting for me to change his new faceplates.
His hair and original face are the Black Butler Sebastian Nendoroid and his body is an Obitsu 11 in white. His new faceplates I bought from eBay with the intention of wiping them and giving them new faces. The biggest difference is the stability here. The old head has a different neck design and wobbles a lot. The newer ones took a little bit more modifying, but they're much more stable when posing him.
You can see the old Obitsu body mod was just a simple peg that went into the bottom of the faceplate. The new one requires less modifications to the Obitsu 11 body and the cardboard fits right in to the back of the hair to secure the faceplate.
I buy my Obitsu 11 bodies off Amazon. The white version looks best with the Nendoroid heads. The original Nendoroid and new faceplates all came from eBay.

Lynna recently moved to Stardew Valley after leaving her desk job in Zuzu City. She inherited the farm from her late grandpa, but it’s been years since she was last in the valley, and in all honesty she has no idea how to run a farm. She has bright blue eyes and short purple hair.
Shortly after moving to the valley Lynna meets Sebastian who seems to want nothing to do with her at first. After making friends with Sam and Abby, they explain to her that Seb just isn’t good around people and that it has nothing to do with her personally. After that she and Seb slowly become close friends until one day she realizes she’s fallen in love with her awkward and quiet friend.

Lynna is a Cupoche Friends bjd! She's a mix of two dolls from the Cupoche Friends line, her hair is from Belle and her faceplate is from Anne. She originally started out as Cherie though!
Over time, I started to write an actually story for Lynna and when I did some parts of her appearance needed to change to match the story. She is intended to have bright blue eyes and purple short hair, but I can't bring myself to paint the short hair I have for her. I'm so worried about messing it up!
Cu-poche dolls are a little bit smaller than Obitsuroids, but that works out perfect for the height difference I wanted them to have.
I bought the original Cherie doll from AmiAmi, but Belle and Anne I bought used off eBay.
