James half froze when he heard the professor’s voice answer but he quickly turned and smiled brightly at her. “Not at all professor, I’m just trying to show off.” He said, sticking one his hands deep into his pocket to pull up a glass goblet. “I’ve finally mastered vera verto, took a while didn’t it?”
" Yes, well I suggest going about things in a different way. " McGonagall pointed out, though her interested piqued as he held up the goblet. " Only long enough, though I'd be far more impressed to see you master the entire spell, not just the product of it. "

“Let me guess,” With a small sigh, he continued to gather all the parchment scattered across the desk without looking to who had approached. “You broke your telescope, too?” He understood some students genuinely coming to him with their concern for not being prepared for class, but noticed others were quickly latching onto excuses he wouldn’t be able to tolerate.
“Not quite, Professor Delgado and if I had, I would know better than to interrupt another professor during their free time. The headmaster has stepped away for a few days and has asked me to keep on eye on things....so, I’m simply doing as asked.”
