Quick PSA for the Zipped Up community and the Indie Animation community
I’m coming here to communicate the best I can about all of this because it’s really on my mind: if you want to support an indie series, stop being so overtly negative about everything they upload and share. Stop saying that “it’s not even popular,” stop instantly trying to size it up before it’s even released, stop spreading lies and rumors about it, and stop comparing everything to the same two shows. It’s so irritating and so stressing to us who are trying to create the show you as fans and supporters are trying to see. We’re not Glitch Productions, nor are we Spindlehorse. We’re not Cartoon Network nor are we Sony. We do NOT have that kind of funding, nor do we have that kind of loud support. That support and funding is garnered over time, please stop talking about everything we do like it’s an immediate failure. Glitch and Spindlehorse started similarly as all of us did, they started with a vision, and so have we.
I am exhausted. I work extremely hard, I’ve put my all into this series and I’ve made mistakes from time to time, but I don’t understand why our series in particular garners so much ridiculous negativity. I hate the excuse that it’s jealousy or the ladder because it’s not. You all have shown the upmost support and love to shows that have just been announced, to shows that are just being shared with the world, and although our’s has been around for almost 3 years, ever since 2025, it has been an endless cesspool of insults towards me and my team’s hard work.
We’ve been called everything under the sun, I have to read these comments everyday, and it’s growing extremely tiresome because this does not happen to anyone else at this multitude. I’ve been told I’m “finished” over something someone else did and manipulated myself and others into believing they didn’t do it. I’ve been called names, slurs, doxxed, sent death threats, etc. and it’s all because I’m just? Creating a show for children.
I might delete this post soon. I’m a working adult studying for two degrees on top of managing this series and my business. I’m aware that our audience is young but this is so wrong, and I feel like it’s pushing me beyond wanting to interact any further with the indie animation community. We’re still going to create Zipped Up, we’re always going to post about it, but my openness and willingness to continue to interact with this community is growing ridiculously thin.
If you want people to know about Zipped Up, post, say something, spread the word, stop coming to our comments saying we’re not good enough. It’s extremely exhausting.
Be the community you WANT to be apart of. Draw fanart, make edits, just have flipping fun, we shouldn’t have to ask you to do that. Stop being so negative. Stop harassing me. Stop trying to ruin our reputation because you think what we make is “indie slop.” Stop spreading smear campaigns. Stop relating me to people I want nothing to do with and have cut off. Stop excluding us from indie animation because we don’t fit the quota of what you think indie is. We work extremely hard, please stop.
