people in fanfiction are so good at identifying v specific smells. I literally struggle to identify vanilla when I’m sniffing a candle labelled “VANILLA” how are these kids getting woodsmoke, rain, mint, and a whiff of byronic despair from a fuckin tshirt

Once I read a fic where they were like “he tasted like” and I’m expecting the typical formula (1 cooking ingredient + 1 natural phenomenon + “something uniquely [character name]”) but instead they said “he tasted like mouth” and it was one of the greatest fic moments of my life

“Let me put this another way,” Hoseok says. “Are you going to tell me why you called me at ten this morning, not even thirty minutes after I dropped you off at your apartment, and informed me that I am your boyfriend?”

Jimin makes a distressed noise and drops his fork in order to cover his face with his hands.

“And when I said that I was sorry to inform you that I am not actually, to the best of my knowledge, your boyfriend,” Hoseok continues, “you said, ‘Yes, you are.’ And then told me to come to the Chinese place on campus at one and you would meet me here and explain.” Hoseok skewers a piece of sweet and sour pork with his fork. “So now it is one and here I am, at the Chinese place on campus.” Hoseok pops the pork into his mouth. “Bu’ s’not mush ‘splainin goin’ on.”

A moment of dead silence follows while Hoseok chews. Then Jimin, very quietly, says into his hands, “I told Namjoon I had a boyfriend.” ♡
