Miu Miu A/W15 Photographed by Steven Meisel
Miu Miu’s recent campaigns have pioneered a new wave in fashion advertising through offering lifestyle imagery that is simultaneously aspirational and relatable. In spite of an expanding post-recession luxury market, consumers are identifying with brands which give them access to an Aesthetic rather than over-the-top logo heavy glamour. Now more then ever brands not only need to be strategic in how they target consumers through social engagement and content driven “moments,” but they also have to maintain an air of accessibility in a much broader market. This is the new era of brand identity – one that extends beyond seasonal pieces. It’s much more about creating an experience thats attainable rather than creating a distinct identity; intern creating a broader picture of what it means to be apart of the luxury lifestyle community. There’s a trend in profits falling for mega brands like Prada, Gucci & Louis Vuitton. Smaller brands, like Miu Miu are able to embrace this fresh take in fashion advertising and are seeing the biggest market growth because of it. It’s a direction that’s refreshing, instantly relatable and a bit rough around the edges. who can’t help but not want to be apart of that?

Justin Bettman
#SetintheStreet is an ongoing art project by photographer Justin Bettman, who builds elaborate sets out of unwanted materials and furniture found on the street.
After shooting the photos, the sets are left up on the street, where passersby can shoot their own photos and share using the Instagram hashtag #setinthestreet.
Town Planning by Peter Judson
His series “Town Planning” shows his playful approach to design, using bright, almost toy-like structures to showcase his version of what the ideal city would look like.
